I don't disagree with this perspective, but I find it interesting that no one wrote an article about Delusional Pessimism before the season started (and that topic was/is running wild).
Both outlooks are lacking legitimacy because there is not a complete body of work to judge from.

I love that O isn’t letting his team eat the rat poison but that writer downplaying the wins is basically discounting the fact that they happened.

LSU just has good old regular optimism, there’s nothing wrong with feeling good about your program.

I look at the season as 12 cool parties that are thrown. At the end, I'll look back and see how the "season" was. But, I'm not going to mope around the GREAT party because I heard the music in the 10th party was gonna suck!

That's every team in the top 10 right now, and there is nothing delusional about beating 2 top ten teams in the first 3 games of the season. Miami will be very good and beating Auburn in their house is no little accomplishment! I don't agree with that article at all. We are all optimistic and this team has a lot of confidence and swag.
