Oh shite, should I be bummed out and miserable? Not watch any of the games? Should I throw in the towel based on your prediction of 4 losses? Or are you stating fact?

And that explains everything about you. Besides having the respect of morons doesn't hold a high place in my assessment of self respect.

You realize any coach in America could've done all the things you've listed. I have a vision for LSU football, too. Win SEC and national championships. Does that make me qualified for the job?

But that doesn't mean because O did better in a short period vs mostly bad/mediocre teams hes going to continue that going forward.

See my post above about the fires/hires/extensions/promotions and tell me which ones you think are the cause to what Coach O has done will not continue or get better going forward. Please !!!

I'm wondering what is going on that I am missing that will cause Coach O and the LSU football program to be worse than the 4-5 record in the last 9 games prior to him taking over.

Little insight please????

I haven't read all 19 pages, but I assume everyone is agreeing that #81 is a good ranking for coach O.

lol what about beating eventual national champ Alabama in Tuscaloosa and top 5 Arkansas plus beating UGA in the SECCG and beating the eventual PAC 12 and Big East champs? State, Auburn and UF weren't world beaters but did end up with winning records. That was objectively one of the toughest schedules LSU has ever played and it's pretty hilarious that you'd choose 2011 of all seasons to attempt to discredit Les

I agree. The 2011 schedule was regarded as one of the toughest, if not the toughest schedule in the nation. My recollection was we were not supposed to be in the hunt for a natty that year and quickly became a serious contender. Unfortunately we had a once in a decade defense that forced turnovers and 3 and outs and a superb special teams, but a sputtering offense. Any offensive consistency or effectiveness and we would have capped a season to be remembered for years.

According to 247, this season LSU has the 2nd toughest schedule in the nation with Cali's being the toughest. We'll see. Things change quite a bit once the season starts.

It's quite entertaining.. Madking thinks 2011 was an easy schedule, TigerRee thinks O did groundbreaking stuff over the offseason, and excuses are already being made. But yes, 81 is a good spot for him, for now. He's got a loaded roster and two elite coordinators.

Really, that's it? That's your response?

You are arguing for Les Miles like you still wish he was here. Why didn't he make any of these moves "that any coach in America could've done"?????

Thank God, NO !!! You defending Les Miles like he should still be the head coach at LSU is enough to make that determination.

No credit for any move that Coach O has made? None at all? Apparently you don't disagree with any of them. Is there maybe even one you may really like?

If you just can't acknowledge anything that Coach O has done as being good, I will understand. I could see where it would be hard to give someone you live to rip a new one, credit for something good (even a small something).

4) Fired Jabar Juluke - RB coach responsible for Derrius Guice going the wrong way and missing out on every RB recruit except one.
I love how now Jabar is the scapegoat on this.

5) Extended Dave Aranda.
What else was Coach O supposed to do? Fire him??

6) Promoted Dennis Johnson (Meatball) who out-recruited Tom Herman for K'lavon Chaisson. He was and may still be the nation's #1 rated recruiter for the 2018 class.

7) Hired Tommie Robinson RB coach - the nation's #1 rated recruiter for the 2017 class. Has coached in the NFL as well as college.
8) Hired Matt Canada OC - the only Broyles award candidate on the offensive side of the ball last season.
9) Hired Mickey Joseph WR - has life long ties to the New Orleans and Louisiana and has been recruiting the area for years. We are getting out recruited in New Orleans by Kansas right now.
10) Hired Pete Jenkins DL - Probably the most well known and acclaimed D-Line coach in football - college and pro.

11) Is changing the culture of LSU football for the better as has been mentioned by several current and former players and outsiders alike.

Please explain to me how the "culture" is changing and for the better? Please do not say some BS, like more passion, energy, or "One team one Heartbeat", Dream Job, etc. How has the culture changed? Explain it to me like I am a 5 year old.

Dude, I've been on this board since 2004. It continually gets worse by the month. The CPM crap this year is a perfect example.

The - Les Miles - all of a sudden was the best coach ever and we love him in this thread and countless others is another example.

You just have to kick back and laugh at them and take it for the excellent entertainment value they provide. It's all you can do. You will never make a miserable pessimistic person into a happy optimist. It just "aint" gonna happen.

Them being miserable doom and gloom people makes me smile all the time and even laugh out loud a lot. I hate laughing when someone fails miserably but I just can't help myself. I hope I won't go the bad place when I die because of it, unless it's not really eternal (then it will all be worth it).

Prepare to read a book, because he can't give a simple answer. He's got to go round and round in circles to try and confuse you, but really he's just eaten up the media circus orchestrated by Fat Goebbels.

Which one of these moves do you disagree with

The phrasing of your question is blantant, you are just trying get people to agree so you can say GOTCHA and it misses the point.

It was time for Miles to go, usually when a coach is fired most of his staff gets canned to so firing guys like Craig, Juluke, BDP is pretty common practice. Given that the primary cause for Miles firing was his refusal to bring his offense to even the late 20th let alone 21st century dismissing the OC is not something O should get credit for. Any coach we hired would have done the samething. Keeping Aranda was one of the informal pre conditions to O getting the job in the first place and part of the justification for paying O less was so could pay him and a top flight OC which right there should give pause.

The Canada hire looks like a good one. Robinson is ok, not terrible but not OMG awesome either. Joseph is highly questionable given his age and resume. Meatball is also questionable, he may be doing well on the recruiting trial but yet to be seen how he coaches his position, may be less important with Aranda as DC. Keeping Jenkins on staff as a coach and not a consultant is a head scratcher, maybe it's just to let Thomas actually recruit it can be justified assuming the NCAA continues to allow that.

As far as changing the culture again it was getting stale and any new hire would have done the same. I'm glad the former players feel welcome, but they are not the best in terms of evaluating a coach. Remember former players wanted Jones as BB coach and then current players wanted to promote Archer.
