You don't necessarily have to be a coordinator to recognize that this coach is good at his job and should succeed here. You just have to be able to read a resume. We hired a guy at a shite school who had not been a DC in 13 fricking years. That's a huge risk any way you cut it. You don't have to take risks hiring coaches at LSU.

This regression is unlike anything I’ve seen though. What does seem plausible to me is that the players were less than enthused by his approach during the MSU game, and today’s issues broke the camel’s back. In 2005 the players were similarly annoyed with him after the Tenn game, but he was able to turn it around. Not having any real cupcake games to give players confidence in the scheme is probably killer.

If this happens, O will have A)not squandered additional seasons with a failed hire and B0Put himself right back on the hot seat if he doesn't hit an HR on the next hire.
I for one think we are struggling more from the "Jimmies and Joes" on the D than coaching but the coaching clearly hasn't shielded them from getting exploited by at least taking one part of the other team's O away.

No he can’t but he can fire him and try to salvage the situation.
I’ve all but lost faith in O but last year gives him at least one free pass. Sucks fir us as fans but it’s true. At this point we either need to hope he fires bo and figures it out or he fricks up so bad that we can fire him next year.
