Larson hit .255 in SEC play with 2 XBHs and 3 RBI.

Mason Braun put that output to shame

He would probably have started at 1st here, too.

He would have platooned in the outfield while Stanfield was hurt

Another star recruit who started with a good bat and got worse over time at LSU.

I don't think he would have platooned. I think he probably would have played right when Stanny was hurt. He was a good outfielder. I think when Stanny decided to return, Larson decided he needed to leave to get playing time.

Who are the others?

Josh Pearson?

Eh. He went through a massive slump and got benched for better players. It was well known he would be leaving weeks before the season was over. It wasn’t like Jay chose Yorke over him.

not something he was guaranteed here and not something he was given at Texas. He's been a mediocre spot player all year.

Our season is no different with Ashton Larson.

3 pitch strikeout on one of the more non competitive at bats you will see. Schloss will sub him pretty quick like he has all year because he’s a defensive liability

Give your list of those players.

He had a great freshman year, then had an injury riddled sophomore year where he was competed for playing time with:

Jake Brown
Josh Pearson
Chris Stanfield
Derek Curiel
Ethan Frey
Jared Jones

The least talented player on that list was a senior with a national title who had a history of big game performances. The second least talented player on that list was a very fast outfielder who led the conference in doubles.

He was a victim of circumstance. He didn't "get worse over time" at LSU.

Totally we’ve struggled more than anyone turning stars into championships.

This board's love affair with Larson who, at his absolute ceiling, is a mediocre hitter and a negative fielder, will never cease to amaze me.

Unfortunately, we could've used Brady Neal this year behind the plate.

We had zero use for Larson.
