Comparing the field at the cap 1 to the BCSNCG is pretty fricking retarded

This board was full of excuses after the Penn State game, and rightfully so. Likewise for Oregon. A slippery field is bad news for them.

Just trying to be objective here. For whatever reason, people think we are just going to walk all over Oregon. I'm just not seeing it.

A lot of it is just people getting excited. For me at least, excitement often becomes over confidence especially for the first game of the season.

The last two season openers are fair evidence of this for some fans. There were many many predictions of 30 pt blowouts in the week prior to these games.

Look, Thebob we are going to roll oregon so bad. The Oregon fan that is on here is delusional. The good news for them is they wont drop that far and they can still finish third or fourth in the pac-12

Oregon

+1

Here's my opinion: we really do struggle against good mobile quarterbacks and run-based spread offenses (see: arkansas 2007 and scam newton), but i think the fact that this game is the first of the season is to our advantage, since Les and JJ always have their best games when they have month(s) to prepare. I think our defense proves way too fast and way too good and JJ has a Cotton Bowl-esque performance to lead us to victory

I hope so. I predicted an LSU victory. I know that it's insane with JJ's 90 yards passing a game.

No, the delusional part is
1 thinking that tOSU would be anything other than a doormat if put in the SEC
2 That you will be able to stop LSUs running game
3 That you will be able to run on LSU
4That LSU will be astonished at how good oregons secondary is, LSU plays in the SEC, your secondary isnt special

A doormat that beat your second best team.

I never said we'd be able to run on LSU - I predicted 14 points.

I don't think we will completely shutdown the run. LSU has to get those 17 points somehow and they ain't coming through the air.

I didn't say that you had never seen a secondary like ours or that it was more special than an elite SEC secondary.

I didn't know 13 was only a sophmore last year for you guy's. That's another thing nobody seems concerned about...Special Teams. How many return TD's did 13 have last year?

Kelly made plenty teams look stupid on special teams last season.

Special teams are going to be lights out for the ducks. He had 5 returns I believe. Barner was teh starter before taking the concussion. Special teams will be sick. However, I am sure LSU's are great as well.

Now that is quite delusional, man I could have sworn OSU beat the 2nd best team in the SEC in the sugar bow. Oh wait that's right Arky isn't an SEC team

Welll, we certainly dont claim them, everybody knew they were going to go down there and shite the bed.
I am not talking about for one game, I am talking play the entire brutal season. tOSU would end up being somewhere between MSU and Vandy.

Do you think LSU beats Ohio State last year? Seriously, LSU would've strugged to put points on the board. Ohio State was better than Miss St. Likewise, they lose obviously but they would be a top tier team in the SEC. That is my point.

This post just proves my point.Ohio state has shown consistently that it cant compete with the sec thats why it is 1 and 9 against sec teams in bowl games. If tOSU had to go thru a sec schedule there is no way its top tier. You dont seem to understand there are no gimmes in the sec usually the teams are ranked and if not they are still not push overs. It is grueling and you have to have depth. Every team has speed and every team has depth. The sec is the dominant conferance right now and there is a reason for that. I wish that you would claim that the big 10 or the pac 12 is just as good as the sec so you could lose whatever credibility you have left
