Different topic, I know, however... There is no doubt Vegas will have BSU the favorite against GA. BSU is the real deal. Not saying they are best team to ever play CF ever, but they very much have a great chance to beat about anyone(with that QB they have and awesome program/team). (just do not tell BSU fans I said this as I detest most of their fans). I think BSU could give any other SEC team a good fight the last few years. And I think they will easily beat GA this year. (so will Vegas).
Don't be so sure of that...
UGA and BSU have met before back in '05 with BSU going to UGA and coming away with a 48-13 loss...
What this game has in common from back then is that its the season opener for both schools and BSU is coming off a 1 loss season like last time...
What's different is that UGA is coming off a embarrassing 6-7 season with an equally embarrassing bowl loss to UCF...
Yes BSU will be ready cause once again they have to prove themselves and win these big games against big boys because of their weak arse conference schedule...
I believe UGA will be coming in a huge chip on their shoulder with something to prove and you can bet their coach is reminding them of last season of what happen to Va Tech to open the season with BSU and when they came into that game not ready to play ball against BSU...
I believe UGA will be ready and will win that game on the road...

Yes there is a chance one might see a USC transfer Senior play against LSU for UO.
No there's not. NCAA ok'd it. 12-pac said no. Same rules as last season

if our little brother could almost win at LSU why is it some LSU fans are saying there is no way UO can't even hang with your team then?
Playing Devils Advocate here... maybe they feel this way cause the OSU game was 7 years ago. We are a different and much better team now then we were that season. Also they were playing in horrible conditions. The field was a mess. Those conditions were a great equalizer. Pac1 fans might just say they are excuses... but the funny thing about excuses... usually they are true. I don't think the weather will be a factor at Jerrys World.
No on another note... anyone (not just you) who has a problem with the biases here really doesn't have to be here in the first place. Anyone who has a problem with LSU fans not giving a PAC1 team enough respect can always leave. We are on a Tiger forum. Don't like whats said, leave.

I don't care. It's a retort to all the SEC rulz bullshite.
Don't like "SEC rulz"? go back to a lame arse PAC1 forum. You all butthurt cause fans on a SEC teams forum say what EVERYONE in the country (except PAC1 fans) already know. It's like you have a problem with someone saying water is wet. Got a problem with the obvious? Go back to a lame PAC1 forum where you can all agree with falsifications... like "pac1 is better than SEC"

Ignorance & stupidity on that level is definately not the norm. We do have our share of posters who come on here to try to make a point that SEC>NFL but theyre always called out by other SEC fans. That point is absurd.
My theory on why SEC fans are more vocal about conference pride is that we tie our pride of our region to CFB more than anyone else. That pride & "us against the world" mentality was rekindled by Bear Bryant who put Southern CFB on the map while the Northern media was busy drooling over USC, Ohio St, Michigan & Notre Dame. Bryant made the rest of the country take notice, especially after they were passed over by the voters for the NC for Mich State in '66. Bryant was open in his criticism of the voters and said it was a backlash to America being horrified by what they saw going on in the Deep South during the Civil Rights movement. The rest of the country bashed the South....and it pissed a whole lot of Southern men off.
Hell, I think it even goes all the way back to Reconstruction and how the South was decimated. Not trying to give a history lesson. Its just my theory. Southerners are very proud to be Southern.

As to the SEC thing, I can explain that. We pride ourselves on being the toughest conference in college football (as you are no doubt tired of hearing). We are a little annoying about this, because most of the polls get voted on based on W-L record, and we feel this undervalues our teams (which run a gauntlet). Fans of teams outside the SEC generally don't appreciate this. For example, in this thread someone brought up Ole Miss being 4-8 and implied they were no tougher than any other conferences 4-8 teams. Well, they are in a conference with Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, and LSU (giving them 4 losses right off the top), which means a 4-8 Ole Miss is much closer to a 0.500 team in another conference. When you look at the top 5 teams of the SEC west, they were 43-2 against teams outside that group last year.
In order to be the toughest conference, our teams need to win OOC and our bowl games. So we root for each other, and we dominate, and that's how we like it.
I live in Texas, and there are a bunch of Texas natives that are now SEC fans. They had friends that were fans of one of the SEC teams, and they got pulled in. AFter watching a season of SEC football, they were hooked. No other conference can compare. None of them come close.

Watch it... you'll make someone all butthurt and cry. All because they are not smart enough to go back to their little piss ant forums where they all agree their shitty conference is better than it really is.

I have yet to find another forum where the posts aren't at least 12 hours in between each other. Its hard to bitch when no one is listening.

I'm going back to my PAC1 forum and cry. Oh wait... I just remembered I'm an LSU and SEC fan... which means I have a spine.

I never... and I mean NEVER go to opponents team forums... but the wave of PAC1 fans here whining about us not agreeing that the PAC1 isn't the "best evah" make me want to see them in action. Does oregone even have a forum?
Posted on 5/28/11 at 3:56 pm to Geaux Tahel
The rant is the best forum out there. People from other schools come here and get hooked. Some stay. I expect them to defend their schools and conferences. I don't expect them to come close to winning those arguments. Oregon has a few forums, but they aren't that good.

I just looked at one UO forum where they were talking about past games they had a problem with... and BSU came up. They said they should have less problems with LSU cause "their defense is slower than BSU"
WHAT?
When did LSU all of a sudden get a slow defense.

LSU may lose... but it sure as hell won't be because of speed on defense.
Posted on 5/28/11 at 4:33 pm to Geaux Tahel
Its all on the QB. I think Kragthorpe will help JJ alot.

I think there is a big difference between the BSU game, and the upcoming LSU game for a couple of reasons.
First, The team that went to BSU went in very cocky, over confident and in my eyes, had a bad game plan. Running Blunt sideline to sideline instead of North and South was a bad idea. BSU had a smaller, very fast defense that negated that plan. BSU didn't have to stack the box to stop that plan. Because of that, the short passing game with Masoli wasn't effective at all.
Second, LSU's defense is big, but much slower than BSU's. Their D line won't last very long having to chase Oregon's RB's sideline to sideline all day. From what I've seen from LSU, they're not super deep on the D-Line, so putting in a quality player to give the starters a breather will be tough for them. When LSU has to dedicate more players to stop the run game, the passing game will open up with a much better QB than Masoli ever was, who can stretch the field (Albeit with unproven receivers).
I think Oregon's speed (both the team's speed, and the speed of the game) will hit LSU hard in the late 3rd quarter. The roof will most likely be open at Cowboys stadium, so the heat and humidity will be a factor. I don't see it bothering Oregon as much as some people may think. Oregon handled it just fine when they went to Tennessee last year.
Don't get me wrong, I think it will be a close game. I'd be surprised if Oregon scores more than 30. I just don't see the LSU defense being as effective as the Auburn defense.
So we have no depth on the D line, and our D is slow, and Tennessee is hotter and more humid than Louisiana? And UOs D will be more effective than LSUs. Didn't they lose a ton on D?
Northeast hippies do smoke a lot of dope don't they?
