LSU can man up in the secondary and go after that QB's arse! I dont see Oregon's WR challenging the secondary down the field.
Posted on 5/28/11 at 5:53 pm to Suck Out West
First game back after losing their best stud WR... I don't see how their receiving corp will be some big threat.
Man up on receivers and load the box?
Of course their WRs have to have talent at this level. But considering what they lost, and how early the game is... I just don't see how "well-oiled" the 2011 Oregon receivers will be.
It's going to be hot. Hope their explosive players are practicing in a huge sauna to get prepared for Dallas.

Geaux Tahel, Buddy, you have some real issues. You love using straw man's and twisting things. I will get to you in a second.
Our "Shitty" Conference since the modern football era(the BCS started in 1998- though we did not play each other after that- until 2000) holds a record of 12 games to 10 over the SEC. And
the SEC was favored to win 12 of those games but only won 10. And the PAC is 14-7-1 against the spread vs the SEC in this modern BCS football era. Not to bad for this supposed "Shitty" Conference. And these are the results when actual play between the PAC and SEC happen on the field. Isn't that were debates get decided, on the field?
I am however not using this to trump the PAC as way superior to the SEC. I am however using that to prove a point. The PAC has and can easily hang with the SEC, and in my proof- actually beat the SEC more this past Century.
If you ask me, I think it is super close between the two with the SEC slightly better overall in quality. And if you read all my posts I ever wrote here I bend over backwards saying so. While I do believe the SEC is slightly stronger then us, I do believe the PAC is a little tougher to make it through(9 Conference games in a row- UO being the only team that ever won all 9, let alone in a row with no cupcakes in the middle or at the end). Again, yes true- I do think the SEC is a tiny bit stronger in general. But the margin is super close iMO.
As far as respect, we are not BSU. We do not need to pout for it. We already have it. We care less what others think. We blazed CF records last year and feel we have the best team in the nation. And not only are we not afraid to play anyone, we actually want to play the other great teams to see how we measure up.
Now Geaux Tahel...
You see that one stranger you quote from- on a Oregon forum... well, he is a moron in a lot of his comments. However, you did straight up twist his words in saying he claimed Tenn was hotter and had more humidity then LA. That is not what he said. All he said was, "Oregon handled it just fine at Tenn". And you go and twist his words into something he did not say. That is called twisting, deceiving and lying. And just so you know, we do have the ability to create a sauna like effect in our practice facility. Last year we had it cranked up in heat and humidity all to prepare for the Tenn game(as UO gets almost no humidity)all while blaring Rocky Top loudly. We also have had for a while the ability for our computer controlled locker-rooms to match the exact lighting outside in the stadium so when they go out for the game their eyes do not have to adjust. And I could go on and on with our tech. We are said to have the fanciest/ and most high tech facilities in CF. Do we though? I personally do not know but many magazines and papers have said so, and same for many recruits, even many who have seen yours. Bottom line, we are as high tech as a program can be on average all around probably. It helps when you have a former UO alum that founded Nike while a Track boy there who has a fetish for building new fancy buildings.
We out in PAC land could give a rip what you all think of us. We are the Conference that created the very first bowl game and everyone elts has followed our lead since.
We do not ask your PAC praise, nor do we demand respect. We just hate distortions of truth and facts. And one would think a Conference of fans would not pretend the PAC is junior high, when that junior high Conference this past Century has beat the SEC more often. If you wish to debate this, be my guest. I can easily post all the scores, rankings of teams at the time, finishing, everything. And while there is some playing of the stronger vs the weaker, you will find out it is more so with the SEC then the other way around. Head to head, we have been not too bad, considering we are only a junior high Conference.
Plus those other forums that have morons claiming LSU is slow on D are not on here. Fine, laugh at them all you wish, and I will join you, but don't lump us in with them. If you do I could lump you all in with some even more retards.
Lastly, I actually really like this site, but if you cant handle debate, then that's fine. Very true, if we do not like it, we can leave. But also true, if you do not like something you read you can always skip over it. Do note however, you do not see me slamming LSU or anything on here! So don't pretend that I do or any other Duck on here. Personally you only see me defending UO or such, with facts and logic proving my case. And FYI, tons of LSU fans came to our boards starting almost a year ago when this game was announced. And most of them have been pretty cool. So do not pretend it is only UO fans on here but non of your fans on ours. I have never posted on any teams blogs before this one except Ole Miss last year cause of Masoli and getting tons of questions asked with him. I only created a account here and have posted because so many LSU fans are doing the same with ours. If you go to all ours not only will you see many LSU fans, but also some of those fans pushing Ducks hard to come to Tiger Rant and join the fun here. (And I do confess Tiger Droppings is way better then any of ours.) Shall I go back to ours and tell your own fans that you can't handle logic and sharp debate? And please do not twist any of my words. Read them carefully.

SEC- 5
everyone else- 0
SEC- 5

I believe his point is that the only way to keep the SEC from winning the MNCG is to ensure that we don't play in it.

Actually the SEC has 7 crystal balls.

Nope. I just hate lies, spin, deception.
As for the rest, I think the field will settle things in September. May the best team win and with NO EXCUSES, NOT ONE SINGLE ONE! And make sure you all come on back here after, everybody! Until then, sit back and drink a 12-Pac:)

agree for the most part
SEC superior on upper echelon teams
the rest is close but favors the SEC for the most part.
who the frick cares about Vandy vs. Washington State
Pac has been a top 3 conference, anyone who argues otherwise is retarded.
Completely different style of football though, so the argument is extremely subjective.

But, you can have mismatch games. I mean, if USC is beating up on teams in the bottom half of the SEC and LSU or UF is beating up on teams at the bottom of the Pac 10, it's not very indicative of conference strength. Or I would say it's not the only tool to measure conference strength.
The SEC has had five different programs win BCS national titles in the BCS era. And two of those programs have won it twice. I don't think the Pac 10 has even 3 programs capable of doing that, much less 5. Yes, for most of the past decade, USC had a very formidable program and Oregon had a very good season last year, but we'll see if they are here to stay.

I had access to the finial standings and rankings of all the teams at the end of the season but I do not have access to it right now. I can get it though, it is more impressive then this data.
Thus head to head on the field in the BCS era, the PAC is the only Conference to win more then then SEC. We are the only two Conferences that have a loosing record in the BCS as we too have a Conference that is up on us, the Big 12, I think by one game. Even though the PAC is up on the SEC this last Century I still feel the SEC is a better Conference, however only by a very slight margin. And the BCS title game kind of backs me up on that too.
As a side note back in 2000 UO had one loss. And they were ranked in polls at #2. But the BCS had Oklahoma #2. And OU played Colorado in the Big 12 Champ game and lost big. But because of margin of victory computed much in BCS during the season and also way more computer bias, and the computers did not factor their one loss was in that Conference Champ game, UO was denied entry into the BCS game. And Choklahoma went on to play in it, even though they got beat bad by Colorado and all the human polls wanted Us to be in it. Choklahoma went on to lose bad, really bad in that BCS title game. While Oregon went on to Crush Colorado the Big 12 champ. Because the Big 12 runner up got slotted in the BCS title game, Oregon got screwed by not getting in. And by both teams bowl play, it was obvious the computers determined the wrong teams. Thus we were screwed, and after the BCS formula was greatly changed to consider more human poll votes in formula and dropping season margin of victory as a measure. UO had our most famous player ever back then, QB Joey Harrington(come back kid) who was a finalist for Heisman and #2 NFL draft pick.

LSU has lost 2 games a year every year in his tenure. Before you say it was the SEC you must look at the teams Oregon lost to. They had a combine 1 loss between 3 teams. We also allowed an average of 22 points against those three teams. Unless LSU gets drastically better on offense, it will be a close low scoring affair.
This is not the Pac 10+2. Come play an SEC schedule.
Posted on 5/29/11 at 5:38 am to MSTIGER22
Come play a PAC 10 schedule where you play only 3 OC's, and on average have by far the toughest OC schedule set up(even though you only get 3 OC games/year and then top that by playing 9 Straight Conference games in a row without a single creampuff to relax and refresh. This year, 2 PAC teams in the new PAC-12 will be playing 10 STRAIGHT Conference games. What you dont get is, that is VERY hard to go undefeated. No other team had won 9 before since the change to 9 C games, besides UO last year. And now 10? Oh my.... And PAC teams do not get to play little sister of the blind their second to last game to rest up. Take out that school of the deaf game ya all play every year at the end, and replace it with a Georgia or Florida or USCjr and see how hard it is to go undefeated.

Thanks! Interesting perspective. Although I'd offer the observation that for the past few years you've only succeeded in beating up on Tennessee, which a lot of teams have done.... (the 2007 win by Cal was a quality win, though...)
Regardless, looking forward to a great game - good luck! (and post some pics of your cheerleaders already, will ya?)
