I think I have to agree with this somewhat. I do think the Duck D will be ready and will be better than most Tiger fans want to believe. However, the speed and precision needed for the Duck offense to really hit stride are a little harder to master and especially for the first game against a first rate defense. Like I said before, it depends on the O-line. And on Jefferson. If you guys find a passer we have to respect, we won't be stuffing your run. We have faced bigger O-lines than yours, and did well if we stuffed the box. Unfortunately, like in Stanford's case, they have a passer and that made things really tough. Don't ask me about Cal. and I won't ask about Tenns. 13 man defense, oh you were lucky.

i have not posted in a while and i feel like i need to because of a lot of people here (oregon fans and some LSU folk) do not realize what is about to happen...our defense is the sickest in the country...much better than the Aubbie defense last year...on offense ware et al will be unstoppable...the west coast does not know what to do with pure d studs like we have...that is really it...this game for the LSU side will be a cross between VT opener and NC opener with LSU doing what it does best under CLM and win on the big stage while showcasing the SEC superiority

Do they have a cough do to cold? Or is it something like Tennessee last year having skin infections? The vols just needed a lesson in showering technique. Maybe Chavis can have your guys say the alphabet while they wash their hands?

I think we're on to something here: SEC superiority in lack of personal hygiene. Maybe you can teach us to defend a DT and we can teach you how to brush your tooth.

What I'm thinking most is both teams will likely have a bunch of cobwebs to dust off. I think cobwebs would effect the Ducks more than LSU. Why? Well, LSUs Offense has been pretty insignificant for a while. So an already horrible offense may be out of sync... oh no... woe is me. But an offense like the Ducks running on cobwebs may very well be effected. Personally I think the earlier in the season we play Oregon, the better chance LSU has to win. The Ducks offense late in the season, running on all cylinders would be much tougher. Cobwebs effect teams like bad weather does. A team that doesn't live and die by their offense isn't as effected by either cobwebs or bad weather. You give bad weather or poor execution to the UO offense, and it's a hell of a lot easier for the opponent. But I'm still worried about UO. LSU always plays down to OOC teams... especially early in the season... UNC McNeese UW LaTech Troy x2 ASU OSU All these were teams we should have won by a lot more than we did. We still won, but thats my point... we had a much harder time than we should have. You can talk size, speed, LSU D, UO Offense all you want but I think the winner will be the one who comes in to the season with less rust and cobwebs. Simple as that. One single facet of the game... period.

Excellent observation. Agree with you 100%

If Oregon has just a "gimmick" Offense then why did Tenn's head coach Dooley say after reviewing much game film before that big game, "Oregon is fast, physical, and doesn't have a weakness". SEC Coach Dooley on Oregon He said this before the game, just by studying lots of film.

Dooley's still studying the benefits of his "13th Man" Defense.

LINK Just saying

And that was a great link. However that was just one play, not copying a whole system or style of Offense.

After reading this thread it's one thing kept coming up is how Oregon Keeps bringing up the UT game like UT shut LSU down...

Have you Ducks actually looked at the stats of that game? LSU kept UT in that game with 4 turnovers and still, yes with some luck, still won the game...

LSU had the same stats as Oregon vs. UT

Oregon had 447 total yards with 202 passing and 245 rushing...LSU had 434 totsl yards with 215 passing and 219 rushing...

If LSU doesn't turn the ball over 4 times they win in a run away like Oregon...

However the one telling stat is that with LSU giving UT 4 extra possessions still held UT to 217 total yards...

Oregon gave up 333 total yards to UT...

Yea bc as good as a coach as Kelly is, he really hasn't won any big games there during his tenure. This might be the biggest win of his career if Oregon pulls it out. You can't count the one tough conference game they play a year a "big win". I just hope we show up to play and play hard.

You're proud of the NC win? Weren't they short 16 guys for that game and had to burn 8 red shirts just to get enough players to make a game of it?

As for VT, that was what? 4 years ago?

If you want to go that far back take a look at the highlights from the Oregon Oklahoma St game.

I always come back after the game, win or lose. Why wouldn't I come back? Fans here have been excellent for the most part. Sure every team has some jerks. But you just ignore them and post with the sophisticated football fans.

Since this thread is about how Oregon fans are crazy, I thought I would add something.

I just saw the whole video highlights of the 2004 OSU-LSU game where you won by 1 point. That OSU kicker missed all 3 of his extra points. And that game went into OT. Now, had that OSU kicker even made 1 extra point in regular time, there would of not been any OT and LSU would of lost. And guys, this was to our little brother. Our little crappy brother, and at your famed supposed "death valley". You only won because of a gift to you. And well, this gives me hope. If our little brother can virtually beat you, except for a fluke 3 extra point kicks missed, how much so can big brother do?

And guys, we are hell not OSU!
2004 UO's little brother OSU vs LSU
