well, i don't think there is any controversy here. JD will start and play all game (barring injury) unless we lose some games and/or the wr's rebel because he won't throw them the ball.

Even when JD’s thrown 2 picks and we’re losing at the half?

bullshite.

Let me know when that happens. I have no past experience to go by on this. Since the departure of Joe Burrow we have had a QB throw 2 ints in a game 5 times by 4 players playing quarterback.

Myles Brennan once vs Miss State(2020), both in the 2nd half.

TJ Finely twice. Once vs Auburn(2020), one in each half. Once vs AtM (2020), one in each half.

Jontre Kirkland (2021) once in a bowl game he had to play QB and that was one each half.

Garrett Nussmeier twice. Once against Arkansas (2021), both in the second half. Once against Southern (2022), one in each half.

0 times have there been two interceptions in the first half since JB, 0 times has Daniels thrown 2 picks in a game at LSU

It's crazy how they try to make athletic QBs pocket passers. It's like trying to make Nuss run the option. Why?

because you can’t roll your QB out every play.

at some point if there is a pocket your QB needs to throw from it.

what you don’t want is to coach out the instincts to escape a collapsing pocket from your mobile QB

Especially since it cuts the field in half and D will adjust with a quickness.

Because a good passer is better than a good runner. The ideal is a QB that is a threat to run, but relies primarily on his arm. That keeps the playmakers working hard, but forces defenses to respect the run, which means they may lose track of a playmaker.

Daniels gives LSU the best chance to win now.
I guess you have been watching a different Daniels and LSU team than the rest of us have been watching

JD never scrambles to buy time to throw. He just takes off or holds the ball to long and gets sacked.

JD is our QB. Top 5 Heisman candidate. 5Y+ experience. Over 65 starts as a P5 QB. Deal with it already

I think every LSU fan is "dealing" with it, amigo. After W1, JD5 ain't in the same remote marsh of Heisman contenders and it would take a massive uptick thru SECCG and CFP to get him back in that conversation.

You can point to Denbrock's bad scheme, multiple dropped WR passes in every single damn game, a porous defense...but it would also be nice 2 see him make better decisions faster. He's played pretty well but a strong FSU defense showed up both JD5 and Denbrock. And after 65 starts as a college QB, I think the fanbase expected JD5 to play like what we've seen by Jordan Travis. Most of us still envision LSU having a great season but the huge uptick promised by BK and JD5 in the summer may take longer than expected.

That said, I'd be happy 2 see the Nuss vs. JD5 threads F0 and die. I trust BK to do what's best to win.
