Rolling QBs out of the pocket is 1970s stuff. Defenses today dictate the pocket and offenses have to adjust. You can scheme that every now and then, but if you try it too much you are going to waste a lot of plays.

Honestly some of JD’s best work in the passing game comes from the pocket. J
Not at all. He has terrible pockets awareness.

Daniels gives LSU the best chance to win now
Was that based on the blow out losses last year or the blow out loss this year?

JD is way too inconsistent as a QB to consistently beat good teams. That was proven last season and he has not shown improvement with the small sample size exhibited so far this season. Rolling out and leaving the pocket too often limits options and makes the field smaller. Throwing down field with competence is what opens the running game for himself and the running backs. You can disagree now, just like many did last season. The reality is he has been awful at putting the ball in the endzone vs FSU x2, Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Georgia.
5th year senior who was 19th in league last season in yards per pass attempt. He is still bailing too early, holding the ball too long, missing open receivers, and taking sacks on 4th down. With this porous defense, that is a recipe for losses against good teams and a couple slip ups against weaker teams. I just hate to see the team suffer without seeing if someone else is capable of putting points on the board. Unfortunately, the coaches see it differently despite what has already been observed on the field.

And exactly what has Nussmier done to warrant he’s the savant QB y’all all think he is? By the way I think he’s fantastic, but not as good as Daniels right now.

Sums it up perfectly

Even when JD’s thrown 2 picks and we’re losing at the half?
The tards on this board taught me that interceptions are good b/c it means the QB is trying. The only other metric we are allowed to use to measure a QBs ability is whether or not they will throw it down the field. Yardage and completion % don't matter. And running touchdowns by a QB don't count b/c QBs should throw touchdowns, not run them in. Did I miss anything?

H cannot throw on the run either

Man, this is such cheap argumentation. Nobody is saying Nuss is a savant or the next Burrow or something. They just think (more like hope probably) Nuss gives our offense more potency, efficiency, etc. than JD currently.

JD - He was sacked 43 times last year, not sure hes that good of a runner or athletic....hes obviously not a passer.
New Mexico, Auburn 8/20 85 yds 0 passing TDs, Arkansas 8/15 86yds 0 passing TDs and an INT and Texas A&M 0 passing TDs.
Arkansas, Auburn and A&M were HORRIBLE performances
The Defense won Arkansas and Auburn, I don't see the defense winning many games this year....

But they have to roll him out of the pocket with the option to run or throw.
What if I told you it was much easier for a QB to hurt the defense with his feet from straight drop back than trying to roll him out. Rolling him out to give him a pass run option is pretty much pewee football gameplan.
Also our best play over the past few years is the RPO with the option to pull and run wide or throw the ball in the flats to the TE. So we do a better version of what you are asking for ALL THE TIME!

Nuss needs to start and jd sit the bench
Nuss is better and it's not even close

It's crazy how they try to make athletic QBs pocket passers.
The vast majority of our offense is predicated on Jayden in the RPO game. We aren't dropping back throwing the ball around the yard guys.

Wonder the difference in time it takes to get rid of the ball between Nuss and Daniels. Avg gain per play.

Against UGa and Purdue Nuss threw for more yards and had one more TD than JD in both games when they both had similar attempts. Then against Grambling, Nuss was two dropped passes from being 100% with two TD's(take that with a grain of salt given how bad Grambling was). He warranted at least a couple of series in the second half against FSU, especially given that JD was 11/22 and 0 TDs at the half.

What part of RPO precludes you from "throwing the ball around the yard"?

I never said it did. My point was the OP was complaining about Jayden being in the pocket alot when in reality we aren't just dropping back and throwing the ball around the yard.
