I really hated him at bama because i knew had it not been for the dolphins offer he would have stayed at LSU. He was always the smartest guy in the room and had a firm grasp of the college football landscape. This was proven when the Spread offenses toke over College football instead of fighting it he switched to it unlike ours truly Les Miles. I really wish he would shoot higher than a Analyst role because if he was in charge of College football(NCAA) i really believe this NIL stuff would be under control. This guy just gets college football and is GOAT.

I was cracking up watching him give his LSU shoutout while standing next to two of his BAMA Heisman winners…

enjoyed the shoutout to LSU and TIGER STADIUM

Without doubt that was intentional.

He even mentions it in his speech. People won't remember what you say; they'll remember how you made them feel.

He easily could have taken that moment to give a similar analogy from his tenure at Alabama but he wanted to mention LSU, the fans, the stadium, that championship and let people know what it still means to him and the impact it had on the rest of his career and the hundreds of players he influeced after that championship.

I don't think it was about money for Saban. All high achieving people want to practice their trade at the highest level. Saban wanted to be an NFL coach and he was always going to leave LSU at some point to do that. He realized his process didn't translate to the NFL and came back to the college game and became the GOAT college coach.

It wasn't just an opportunity in the NFL he was after, he wanted alot of control much like Parcells. H

It was the combo of an NFL job paying $5 mill a year, full authority over football operations and what Gill Brandt has repeatedly reported as a check "with at least five zero's" given directly to Mrs Terry

Gotta say

The guy embodies excellence. From coaching to that speech, the guy is excellent.

If you don’t like that, it’s on you

Tough to hate Saban when he’s a large part of why this program finally stopped getting out of its own way and became a powerhouse

Thank you. It sucked that he returned to returned to CFB at Alabama, but I'm grateful for the the culture change he and Emmert brought to LSU.

For what it’s worth, LSU helped Saban as much if not more than he helped us. He wasn’t that great of a coach leaving Mich State. He really became “Saban” in Baton Rouge. I’m sure some of his fondest memories are there.

Great coach, shitty liar….

I’m not leaving LSU, until that faithful Christmas morning when he flew out to Miami… Saban died to me that day…..

And of all places he returned to, after he fell on his face in the NFL, was another slap in the face

Frick him.

Steve should have been hired before Archer. There is no telling how many titles LSU would have had he were hired here.

It is mind boggling how bad that decision was. Archer was like turning the program over to a thirteen year old boy.

I love him for this. Why is media entitled to know this? Easiest way to shut them down.
