Pretty good data (that is kind of outdated), but a good read anyway.

Looks like Texas & Arkansas are getting horrible returns on their investments. Texas spends twice as much as LSU

Does that include salaries of the coaches?

Does this include tuition? I'd imagine it does. If so, that's the difference. Texas' tuition is a shitton higher than LSU's.

Poor Southern University. Look at their spending...less than $45,000/year. (Can that be correct?!?)

I know they are going through a rough season this year but Roger Cador gets my full respect for doing more with less than any other baseball coach in the country, IMO.

This.

Some high schools spend more money on baseball but somehow he fields a decent team anyway.

If you click on the link for 2012 data we had the highest team expenses at 4.8 million. UVA and USC joined us in breaking 4.

The 2012 numbers use all expenses rather than just operating expenses, I'm not exactly sure how that would skew things but something to keep in mind comparing the numbers

There's some massive abrasion of the palms of the researchers by using the correct reference to Univ. of LA @ Lafayette.
