Great at the plate tonight, terrible in the field

No, Arnold should be on the bench. His fielding is bad, and his hitting is just okay. Maybe platoon him with Beloso some at DH, but that would probably suppress both their hitting.

He really hasn’t hit well in conference. So I would agree. But he also hasn’t had a lot starts to get into a groove.

He is better than drew Bianco in every facet of the game. Literally.

Bianco has quietly raised his batting average to .246 the past few weeks. He has actually been fairly decent at the plate lately, hitting safely in 11 of the last 13 games. He was batting about .170 a few weeks ago

Right around the time he inexplicably stopped getting ABs.

Well this wrong. Bianco is a better fielder. There is one facet. I think Bianco is faster as well.

I realize Bianco has become the team whipping boy the past few seasons, but the kid has been playing some pretty solid baseball the past few weeks.

He has. He’s been doing some little things well at the right times too. That helps.

In SEC play Bianco is hitting 100 higher than Arnold with a OPS over 300 better. Hitting .273 in SEC play is tied for the 4th highest BA on the team. He is a better fielder and last night showed he may be the only player on the team who can put down a good bunt.

PM did mention reason he took out Thompson last night was that he had been sick

What do you with Arnold, lacks a true position. You can DH him but the majority of pitchers you face in SEC play are righties so PM is going to get that lefty matchup which is why he still runs Beloso out there

Arnold made a few plays last night at SS and some were tough plays, the one play he botched was a hard hit ball and then he bobbled one that led to a late throw to 1B, you can't make those mistakes in SEC play

The botched play was hit hard but he still butchered it completely. If you’re going to play it the way he did and not get in front of it you can’t miss it, then he ran out there and literally kicked it to allow the run to score.

We must be watching a different Arnold.

Outside oif Hellmers who played two games in the field, Arnold has, by far, the worst fielding % on the team. He may have made some nice plays, but he also struggles on routine plays and has taken some very poor angles on baseballs. He just doesn't appear to be comfortable or confident at all in the field. He had two erros last night alone. He's one behind the team high in errors despite only starting 26 of our 48 games in the field.

How did his average get to 250 or whatever it is? He was hitting around 300 against the pre-SEC schedule. If he was hitting well until he stopped getting ABs how did his average drop so much?

Arnold’s average is .022 better than Bianco’s, and Bianco’s has gone up in SEC play while Arnold’s has gone down. Bianco is a much better fielder than Arnold.

Are you on crack? I’m guessing you are not.. So it must be that you know nothing about baseball. Arnold is rock solid at SS.

My mistake. I thought you were referring to Thompson. Apologies.
