Yes they can rake, but they relied on the HR to win the past two weekends. They had two home runs with like 87 ball speed off the bat, one was a grand slam.

Even if we lost to them in this first game, not to get ahead of ourselves here or make assumptions about the other teams, but do y'all really see us losing to one of the other teams in the loser's bracket? I don't believe we would struggle too much in the loser's bracket and could realistically see us clawing back to play Arkansas again. Now would we beat them TWICE with a tired bullpen? That remains to be seen, but I see us going deep in this CWS.

You're really grasping at straws to try to say the LSU has an advantage at the plate tomorrow night

Where did I say that?

What has been proven already though is that LSU top arms are capable of holding down Arkansas' offense. Doesnt mean they will this time, just that it has been done.

Arkansas rakes. Crazy weather or not. This game is coming down to who gets the timely knock and who doesn’t

We won’t beat them by hitting better.

Well we did already do this earlier this year

We had 1 more hit in the series and scored 8 more runs than Arky.

They are just as nervous about playing us as we are about having to play them. Hopefully our fans really show up and get loud.

I havent seen anyone bring this up, but homers are down a bit from the last two years, about 10% down actually. The big parks during conference tournamenrts this year played real big.

Are they though? I haven't seen where the NCAA has released anything for the 2024 season but i know from 21-23 homers went from 1.71/game to 2.25/game.

There were a ton of homers hit by SEC teams last year. 6 teams had over 100 homers in 2024. 5 teams this year with over 100

Big park and the wind blows in.
We usually get screwed by that.
We will see this time.

On the Musso podcast yesterday he said that Arkansas got 66% of their runs from HRs this post season. Yes, they can hit but I don't see them hitting a ton of HRs in Omaha with the larger field.

While it is an interesting stat, how much does that stat by itself really tell us. If they played all of their games in Omaha, I bet they would still have a significant number of HRs. Plus, if the ball hadn't left the park, would it be an out, a base hit, how many RBIs would have been generated.

When comparing the 2 stadiums, the main area where the dimensions would really play a part are for those HR balls barely getting out down the lines.
Omaha: LF line (335'), L center (375'), Center (408'), R center (375'), RF line (335")
Ark: LF line (320'), L center (375'), Center (400'), R center (365'), RF line (320")

For comparison purposes
Alex Box: LF line (330'), L center (365'), Center (405'), R center (365'), RF line (330")

I agree 100% but I was trying to point out the positives

Yep it’s no coincidence that the two years we’ve had the most success at the new ballpark, 2017 & 2023, are the years when the wind was blowing out which is abnormal for the new ballpark
