I think we have to use Casan Evans tonight if we lead late in a close game.

Kind of agree with you but we used Shores yesterday so cant use him Sunday so would have to go with Schmidt, Noot , and the whole bullpen. Which i'm good with if we win today and burn Cowan.

Good point brother..

He didn’t look hurt or just recovering last weekend against Texas. IMO he’s a bigger problem than Root.

Runs will likely be at a premium.

LSU, on the other hand, starts the strike machine Eyanson. The quality of his missed pitches is one thing that makes Eyanson so good. He stays around the zone.

This is a good matchup for Eyanson. Arkansas is super aggressive. They will be swinging at pitches they can do very little with.

Last week against TX he threw 57 pitches

I'd make him throw strikes, which apparently he is very good at doing since he hardly ever walks anybody. But nonetheless, I'd make him throw "Strike 1" before swinging at anything.

Who knows? His control could always be a little off and LSU could start getting into the bullpen by the 4th or 5th inning.

Yep will be important to work counts today, as he will likely be on a ~70 pitch count. He is rounding into form so we need to get him out of there asap

This is not a very good take since Wood has shoved every single time he’s been in so far since his return. LSU will have just as hard of a time getting runs off of Wood as they did Root I can assure you. Let’s hope Eyanson can have close to a repeat of last week.

Although I don’t think DVH is letting Wood go much past 5 innings or so still so hopefully that’ll be good for us.

Good news is they have been using Gaeckle to relieve him. After throwing 43 pitches last night it’s doubtful we see him tonight.

Definitely not a rag arm. Probably their best pitcher when healthy. Plays amped up and with lots of emotion. CJJ doesn't need to let him get into a rhythm, and we don't need to swing at everything. Work the count, stall him to keep him pissed off, get his count up and get him the frick out of there.

Van Horn has been known to try and go all out to win a Game 1.

It’s a dumb take by someone who obviously doesn’t keep up with SEC baseball.

Maybe, maybe not, but it proved true. 60 pitches only 34 strikes
