But even if it was blowing in, bunting your 2-hole hitter with the power of Frey in the 1st inning is never something I’d agree with. 1) He’s more likely to get him over with a ground ball or fly out to the right side than he is getting a bunt down. 2) if he hits something hard to the right side, it has a chance of getting through or falling, and you move the runner over without giving up an out.
