What's doubtful? I think it looks pretty good for lsu getting both of them. Definitely Jacob berry though.

Boissiere is draft eligible, might not even come back to college next year

Looks like Boissiere and Morgan have a similar profile. Would he maybe come here to make the move to OF?

Morgan’s an OF at the next level. He should get a head start there now.

Are we all just hoping he’s coming or is it actually known he is?

Looks like a strong possibility Boissiere could end up with Berry at LSU. Boissiere can play OF or 1st base, would make sense to move Morgan to his natural position to the OF and have Boissiere play 1st base. I'm thinking Brayden Jobert could be an OF or I believe be the DH he can really rake as well.

If this happens all LSU needs is good not really great pitching and this will be a very scary team.

Again Les we all saw that Berry was likely coming but where have you seen that Boissiere is likely coming?

I read that Boissiere entered the portal with Berry I realize Boissiere is draft eligible but saw an article from Arizona about how close he is with coach Johnson. Obviously, it's not official yet for either him or Berry to be here but sure looks goods!

It's starting to become pretty clear that at some point Bianco is going to get the call...

Johnson: Hey Drew, we're looking things over, and I have a suggestion.

Bianco: What's that, coach? Super excited about our chances next year and I really want to be a part of it.

Johnson: Right. About that...you need to tell your summer league coach you're a catcher now, and you need to have him play you there. If he says no, we're putting you somewhere else.

Bianco: I have to catch?

Johnson: No. You don't. You do if you want to play, though. I'd make sure I got good at it over the summer.

Lol no. If Bianco is starting next year it will be because he won the fight for one of his normal positions

WTF? Morgan is one the best defensive 1B that I've seen. Slow down there, fella.

Why does everyone stick on this....

Yes. He was great defensively. But he isn’t playing there in MLB..... he’ll be a great CF too.....
So if you have a big bat that can only play 1B effectively. You make that swap.

What positions?

He isn't going to start in center. They've got a ton of potential center fielders.

Can't see him starting at short, second or third. When Cade Doughty isn't guaranteed a starting job, Bianco is going to struggle.

About the only place they don't have a logjam is behind the plate. And if Moller or Jensen don't make it here, you're basically sitting on Milazzo and Wyeth, and I would think Wyeth probably takes off. Travinski won't impact that position until late April at the earliest.

So unless we find a guy in the transfer portal or somewhere else after the draft, which is entirely likely, the best marriage of Bianco needing a place to play and LSU needing to fill a space is going to be at catcher. He played there some in high school and Mainieri put him there a little in fall camp a couple of times. He's the best option for somebody to switch there.

Seems to me it's obvious you look at him there. The real question is whether he's serviceable or if he's awful. What I can say is Mr. Milazzo ain't gonna be the everyday catcher for Jay Johnson if all he's got at the plate is what we've seen. That dog won't hunt.

While Tre saved a metric crapton of errors at 1st this year, in general defense really isn't that important at the position because even bad defensive 1B can scoop fairly well. This past season was an anomaly in how bad we were at throwing accurately to 1st so it highlighted Tre's agility more than it typically would.

So if Tre can provide even average defense in CF, that would be more valuable than great defense at 1st. That's without even factoring in whoever would end up playing 1st in his absence.

Obviously if you can find a CF who can hit and field well, then you can leave Tre at 1st and not lose any sleep over it. It's all about getting the best 9 guys on the field, however that comes. The only positions I wouldn't immediately trade defense for offense is C, SS, and CF. Everywhere else, give me the better bat.

Morgan needs to make the switch on his own. To get to the bigs he is not gonna be on 1st.

It really just depends on the roster make up as to if/when he makes the switch. He may never make the switch in an LSU uniform.

He can play OF. I've seen it with my own 2 eyes. He also pitched - it's how he tore his UCL.

Exactly. IF Berry and Brossiere come the I think Morgan to CF is a no brainer. That’s Morgan Crews and either Dugas or Merrifield in the OF.

If Bianco can even be serviceable behind the plate, he’s your catcher if Moller and Jensen sign.

IMO the LSU starting catcher isn't even on the team yet.

I would agree with you.

But if I'm looking for a place to put Bianco in order to get his bat (which Johnson might really turn into a weapon) and his leadership and athleticism into the lineup, this might be your best shot.

If we lose both Moller and Jensen, I'd say putting Bianco into that mix is a fairly obvious move. So far as I know the only other guy you'd look at doing that with is Crews based on experience, and...no.
