What a bright spot he has been all year. He was completely unstoppable in the first quarter yesterday. I know he got shook up and didn’t really look the same after that, though he did have a catch after he came back. He will continue to be a nightmare for opponents.

I just hope his time here isn’t wasted.

He is a truly unique talent.

Yep! He would have caught that TD pass that went through Tory Carter’s hands in the 4th quarter. The ball was on the money. To bad he didn’t get at least one look during the last 4 plays on goal line.

What does it say that our only viable TE after Gilbert is Carter?

If only he was in on that deep throw to Carter

The fact that he wasn't in on all 4 plays is stupid

my friend here in Atlanta has a son that played basketball with Gilbert in high school a few years ago. Said he’s a great kid, which makes it all the better.

How could you not even attempt to use
a weapon like that on the goal line with everything on the line?

Didn’t we recruit another stud TE?

In Tory’s defense that was a difficult catch for a receiver and he’s a fullback.

He'll be the first #7 TE

I don't think anyone blames Tory. He should not have been in on the play. It's like asking me to kick a 50 yard field goal. I can guarantee you I won't make it.

Exactly that is why it seemed weird they called that play if Gilbert couldn't go. Not TC's fault, why not put a freshman WR instead or move TM in that position.

I rewatched the goal line series and Gilbert was on the field for 1st down. He was lined up next to the LT in the obvious running formation. Gilbert was being covered by a 5’10” safety 5 yards off the ball. A complete mismatch that Brennan should have recognized and audibled a passing play to Gilbert.

Agreed. Trying to fit a deep pass between to defenders to a fullback just isn’t a high-percentage play.
