1. Last November: I was confident we'd be competitive in the November game, and we were. 9-6 Tigers.
2. 1/9/12: I was confident we'd be competitive in this game, and we weren't. I attribute this to a piss poor game plan: "We'll do what we did in November, only better." We needed some adjustments in our offensive strategy and we didn't get it. We suffered for this lack of imagination.
3. This November 3: I believe we can be competitive if we take some risks and avoid trotting out for the THIRD TIME, the game plan of last November. That ain't gonna cut it. First and foremost, we'll have to scheme some type of passing attack that has some prospect of success. Passing is hardly our strength, and emphasizing it more than we usually do is a risk. However, I don't see us piling up 250 yards of rushing offense against Bama, so the risk I refer to is worth the gamble in my opinion.

I'm not real nervous about the game since we're not expected to win anyway. Win or lose though, I want us to be competitive in this game. If we can achieve that, I'll take my chances on the rest of the stuff.

Had 1 last year.

God I hate Bama fans.

ETA:

Forgot the Reid INT was a trick play that failed miserably.

More worried this year. Our offensive line and cornerbacks aren't as good. Everything else is kind of a wash except for missing Tyrann Mathieu as a playmaker.

We will have a hard time running the ball against Bama and they will pounce on Mett's want to force the ball on short passes.

Special teams aren't as good as last year either. So yeah, I am more worried. I think we get smoked by UA.

Not at all. At least to me, anyway. LOL

I'm still a huge fan and have gone to most of the games, but I refuse to get worked up over a game that no longer counts if LSU wins. I mean, it "may" count this year, but it didn't last year, and it will become meaningless for Bama once the "media darling final four playoff" is put into play.

So, no sarcasm on my part. I sold my tickets. If the game is boring, I can simply change the channel.

When LSU wins (didn't say IF, I expect LSU to win), I'll be thrilled, but I know all it does is make Bama's road to another title easier. Sorry, I just can't get excited over that.

No.

the East teams Bama has played is a whopping 1-9.

The East teams LSU played is 8-2.

LSU has had to overcome adversity
LSU gets a night game in Death Valley
LSU gets a chance at revenge
LSU get a bye week.

Bama's top struggle was against Ole Miss.
Bama is in death Valley
Bama loses and their whole season is over
Bama gets to play a hungry MSU team 7 days prior

Cards are in LSU's favor

You're a Bama fan so it is your nature to be a flamer.

Pigs flew in 93 so why would you be some damn arrogant in thinking you can't lose.

Nope. I had to take 3 slams in BDS before the game last year. And we beat the hell out of you in your own house.

I'm done with worrying.

I believe there is something about that extra week to prepare for Saban! I also believe that look that the chief threw out last week allows more speed and defenders on the field! Nerves? I am nervous every game! I have not been to a LSU Bama game since 06! I am super excited about our chances! If I were clm I would watch the LSU Florida game where Ron Zook took a freshman qb into ts and out coached Saban! What did they do to slow down that defense? Screens and misdirection! A whole lot of it! That is my take on it! This crowd is gonna be so amped up, it is gonna catch Bama off guard! One question for the Bama fan! What defense that is half decent have y'all played this year? Throw out the stats for this Tiger Team! We always get up for Bama! 11/3 will be no different!

Was way more worried for the game @ BDS last year.

I always like our chances at home no matter the opponent.

I would say Michigan is the best defense faced so far. They are a top 20 type defense.

I agree with the overall sentiment that this particular Alabama team has not been tested or "punched in the mouth" and therefore it will be interesting to see whether they thrive or falter when that inevitably happens (possibly happens this week against MSU but more likely it won't happen until 11/3 against LSU). I am nervous about how the team will respond to adversity.

I do like that McCarron and the offensive line have TONS of experience and imo these are the two positions that you worry about being shell shocked the most in front of a hostile crowd.

I think the bottom line is that neither of these two defenses will allow this game to get out of reach. It will be close. The team that takes the most advantage of the very rare red zone opportunities will win.

Not really worried.

I wasn't too worried on 11/5 last year. I thought we were a little bit better and were going to win.

The national championship game? I was nervous as shite. It was over the second they announced Alabama was in the game.

I'd be more nervous if we didn't have a loss already. I'm hoping for a win, but I'm prepared to accept a loss. Bama is playing much more disciplined football than us right now. On 11/3 the gloves come off and nothing that has happened up to this point counts for those 60 minutes, so we will just see what happens.

I am actually less nervous about the game because unlike, say, last year, it is pretty clear that Bama has the more balanced team and has played better going into the game. Going into the game as a home dog is a nice feeling and with the Tigers' D, I expect that game to be close and for the Tigers to have a chance to pull it out.

I'm on the fence. I think Bama has the better team this year due to our lack of a passing game. But Bama will be playing in Tiger Stadium. I know our coach and our players will be as motivated as a team can be. If I had to bet the house, I'd have to flip a coin.

Never nervous as an underdog. Nothing to lose, so play hard and go for it. LSU is one of the few teams in the country that can compete with the Tide, even after losing a dozen key players since the spring. Believe me, the Tide players are expecting their toughest game of the season, regardless of what happens against the bell-ringers this week.
