The seats next to me are never the same people. So one game, there is a lady firmly planted in my last seatback
Typical corporate seats. With different folks every weekend, people have no idea how to act in public. If the corporation gives them to customers, they are typically tore down drunk as well.

Yes.
I consider them necessary.
I remember the old days when we used to have to carry the stadium seats around all day.

They are ok comfort wise and im a pretty fit 5'10 guy. Like most state its more just to maintain your seat and spot.

The new ones are 100% worth it. Much better than the shitty old metal/cushioned ones.
The new ones are almost like a mesh office chair and have enough give to make it comfortable.

i have the yellow chairs/chairbacks in the west upper deck and I love them. Beats the hell out of the bleachers in lower bowl

Yes!
The guy next to me kept complaining that my seat was wider than the actual seat markings. I told him this is exactly where the stadium staffers put them and if the seat is to wide take it up with the Stadium management. I too, also like the seatbacks because it keeps the neighbors from encroaching into my reserved seating area.

Not as comfortable. A lot coooler during the hot games and dry a lot quicker than the older ones. Yes, worth it just to mark your spot for the mouth breathers next to you.

those foam ones were awful they would collect water from rain and when you sat in them the water would flow out
Even those were “worth it.”

I think they're uncomfortable.

I don't find them any more or less uncomfortable that the previous design - the comfort level is fine for me, I just...as I indicated earlier, find it makes it VERY difficult for people to pass me in the aisle with this new design as the folks in front of me have one too and it really is a pain to pass to and fro....that was not nearly much a problem as with the previous design.
I'm guessing if there was not chairbacks in front of us it might be a bit less of a pain but it really was an issue last year. But there are. Folks are constantly apologizing for getting up to go to the bathroom or coming back because they know there's going to be some uncomfortable wrestling to get by.
I send an e-mail of complaint after every game. There certainly must be something they can do with the design to make this less of an issue - hell I know they can the previous design was not near this much of a problem in this regard.

I have lower back pain and I just can't sit in those chair backs.
Might just be me but they are extremely uncomfortable for hours of sitting.
I understand why people have them to keep their space intact.
I wish they were an option for me. I thought the old ones were better.

To be honest….I don’t like them. I liked the foam ones better. The mesh part of the seat gives and the hard plastic around the perimeter doesn’t. So the hard plastic starts to get uncomfortable on the thighs after a while.
Sounds like YOU are spilling over onto the hard plastic. The good thing about your seatback is it keeps you from spilling into someone else’s bleacher seat.

The foam seats were WAY better.
The new mesh seatbacks are cheaper with a weak backing.
Classic bait and switch after getting a successful start with the "good stuff".

Are Tiger seatbacks worth it in Tiger Stadium?
Yea, absolutely. You'll regret it if you don't get them.

For the vast majority of folks, I would say yes. For me personally, no. These new seats have no lumbar support and I have lower spine issues.
