How comfortable are the new seatbacks and are they worth it in the north endzone? I got season tickets this season again after giving them up during Covid. Looks like the seats are different than the yellow foam padded seatback they used to have and cost more than they used to. Does anyone have an opinion on whether they are comfortable and necessary? Thanks.

It’s better than bleachers and it firmly marks your designated seat area.
It beats having to haul your own in every game as well.
That’s all I got.

It will keep fat asses from claiming your assigned area.

those foam ones were awful
they would collect water from rain and when you sat in them the water would flow out

the news ones are much better

I find the new mesh-style seatbacks are more comfortable, especially on hot days, than the old plastic-cushioned ones. Plus, like a cat claiming its favorite spot, you mark your territory!

Worth it as in $85/seat for the season?

Seems a little high, but yes it’s worth it instead of sitting on bleachers

100%. Yes, the actual seat is more comfortable than the bleachers, but the real value to me is that it saves your space.

or maybe I have a bunch of fatties on my row.

This is 100% the correct answer. I’ve had 4 season tickets on an aisle since the early 90’s and many times i have rolled up to the game right before kickoff and if I didnt have seat backs at least one of my four seats would have to be on steps due to the sheer number of fat asses on my row. Those seat backs are like a wolf pissing to mark his territory.

To be honest….I don’t like them. I liked the foam ones better. The mesh part of the seat gives and the hard plastic around the perimeter doesn’t. So the hard plastic starts to get uncomfortable on the thighs after a while.
They are also cheaply made and creak and pop with some movement.

I started bringing my own seat after making sure it met the rules.

Personally not a fan of them. Feels cramped especially if the person in front of you has one as well.

They're way better than the plastic cushions were in the hot September games.

More comfortable than the bleachers.

As stated multiple times here, they are worth their weight in gold. We have 4 also in the south upper and it saves the hassle of having to keep people out of our seats. It does never fail that most games I have to tell someone to move because they are sitting in the chairback in my physical seat. Small price to pay.

I don’t know the seating in the north endzone. Obviously, if you have chairbacks, it would be totally unnecessary. If you have “benchback” seats, the benefit is that you don’t get squeezed out of your designated seat(s), but benches are okay to sit on, so I would consider it as optional.

If you have bench seating with no back, I would definetly get them, as having something to lean back on makes a world of difference in a 4-hour game,

they are best at keeping your neighbor in his/her seat and not on yours. Got tired of people squeezing on our row. If you are a normal sized person, it will protect your space.

You have the big people that take up more than their designated seat space which are a problem, then you have the ones that think they can make a new seat by squeezing someone else in on a row that's already full.

Yep. For all the reasons everyone else said. Better than sitting on aluminum. Marks your spot.

The only issue I had was that I had people use them twice last year. We show up right before kickoff. The seats next to me are never the same people. So one game, there is a lady firmly planted in my last seatback. She kept looking away and pretending like she didn't see us. I finally had to walk over and explain to her that she was not in her seat, and I'm 100% sure she knew it despite acting shocked that I wanted her to move. Another game we showed up, and a woman had taken my last seat and dragged it about 3 seats over and was sitting in it as if she owned it. I apparently burdened her by telling her she stole my seat.

Tried one out from an absentee ticket holder during a game last season and it was chef's kiss. Much more better than my crummy bleacher seat!
