Well, if next season isn't considerably better, we will know two things for sure. Our coach has zero ability to coach or evaluate players.
If just being better than last year is improvement standard. It is not set very high. I hope we double our wins.

1) On planet Earth, we are TOP FIFTEEN ALL TIME in signing McDonald's/Parade AAs. Even Trent's lame arse signed Johnny O'Bryant, and all of our other coaches have also since Dale. Actually, Wade might not have signed one, but there's ZERO DEBATE about him getting excellent talent on campus.

2) Our all time team would be favored against ANY school not named UNC or UCLA .

3) We live on planet Earth.

Those are HS AA, he's talking about transfers who were NCAA AA, but OK.

You are right about that, but I'm pretty sure he has the attitude that no great players would want to come and play for LSU, and if so, he couldn't be farther from the truth.

In fact, I thing an industrial strength argument could be made that LSU is one of the most underachieving programs in college basketball history based on the amount of elite talent that has played in BR, without the results that would be expected from having those players.

If we ever hire AND KEEP (are you listening Scott "Sebastian Coe" Woodward) the right coach, we could be right in the thick of NCAA tournament play and advancement for years. I'm hoping we make that move soon.

We will probably have a team that will lose two OOC games and win 6 SEC games.

We will be going through the same portal guesses the following season.

Oh well.

This roster as it sits now is a NCAA tourney team.

No one can really say that until we see what the rest of the team's rosters look like. It doesn't mean they can't, but LSU won't be projected as an NCAA Tournament team.

There is much more talent and depth.

Maybe.

Now we aren’t good enough to be able to absorb a big injury to projected starter at PG or to Reed

PG? Probably.

But if the roster isn't good enough to absorb the loss of Reed, then it isn't that talented. Reed is a solid, but inconsistent player. He always has been. Even before he was injured this past season. When he is engaged he is a very good scorer around the rim (with both hands). But his motor has always run hot and cold. That leads to shoddy defense and little impact when he's not engaged. He only became an "invaluable" player when he was injured, and an excuse was needed to justify the poor results.

The guy that has the biggest upside is Rob Miller. You saw flashes of it late in the season once the staff finally stopped trying to make him be KJ Willams shooting the ball. IF Miller can continue to develop, he can be a diverse scorer in the frontcourt.

Regardless of who one thinks the coach should be. Most fair minded folks will like watching this team.

With new bodies always comes hope/potential. But the great HC's in the league aren't going away. There were only two coaching changes, and I think it's reasonable to believe Texas got better with theirs. A&M is still TBD. Also, you have to look at the potential schedule. LSU will likely have road games @ Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, Texas, Vandy and Ole Miss. They will be on the road this year for the ACC/SEC challenge

not ones who were first team all conference or All American types.

None of the top level players are going to be transferring to another school. They're all doing quite well where they're at. The ones hitting the transfer portal are the ones who hold too high an opinion of themselves. The successful transfer players are the ones who can convince suckers to believe that they're worth the investment and a spot on the team.

Wrong! In McMahon's 3 years here we literally have not had a single player make it to the NBA or even get remotely discussed as a potential draft prospect. I'm not even aware of a former player from MM's tenure here even in the G-League.

KJ was really good and by far the best player McMahon has had at LSU IMO but no, he is playing in Greece. Looks like he played in the G-League though for one year.

That being said McMahon has been terrible here and there is absolutely no argument against that. If you disagree with me, go pose the question on SEC Rant or more sports board and see if other fanbases would approve of his product if he was their coach.

My bad … for some reason I thought he was drafted. I guess he was just in the G League.
