Losing to Troy is absolutely unacceptable and everyone knows that. To say that that is the norm and not just a fluke would be lying though.
So getting arse raped by Miss State was a fluke, too?
Where does it end and begin?

O and the staff took over a team with plenty of talent to make noise in the conference.
So did Kirby Smart. Yet he lost to Vanderbilt and Florida. Got waxed by Ole Miss too.

You better hope O can pull in a top ten class this year. If we don't step up recruiting we won't be beatin Bama or top teams in the future
Coach Orgeron needed to build legitimacy. Every other program can easily negatively recruit against you when you're losing to Troy. O putting up a 10-3 record changes that.

For the first time in years, our offense looked capable against Alabama's defense
Huh?
There was Williams' run and... that's it.

This isn't even a Miles v. O thing for me,
My question wasn't regarding that. If you wanted Miles gone, there was good reason. 9 games isn't going to undue years of his poison. This program has talent, but needs some retooling.
Yea, no one is happy about losing. But be realistic. You say you didnt expect a win. Most people didnt. But i assume you watched the game. You going to sit there and tell me there were no positive take aways?
Process over results. A sound process yields positive results over the long term. People arent sitting here content pretending like this is some final product, and that is what you are trying to project on people.

So you're not going to give them ANY credit for beating Auburn?
I already have.
I love your what ifs on the game too. Alabama can play the same game. If they had converted a couple of more third downs and if they had not taken a knee at the end of the game, they would have beaten us by four touchdowns instead of two.

I hear you. It’s like the fan base has just given up and is happy to maybe finish second in the west and go to a meaningless bowl game.
I mean we lost by 2 TDs and the outcome of the game was never really in question after Bamas first TD, yet some here act like it’s the greatest game LSU ever played.
Moral victories are for losers.

Uh, yeah. Auburn destroyed Miss State and LSU beat them. I don't believe transitive property is 1:1 but it's obvious that the team that lost to State isn't the same one that just played Alabama. If you can't see a cultural change in the organization then I don't know what to tell you.

It ended when they lost to Troy and began at practice the next week.

Could this not have been posted in the 756 other threads with this title?
People are happy that progress was shown and that in most phases we actually outplayed Bama in their own house.
For the last 6 years, we have been attacking their strengths and getting absolutely Molly whooped.

Entirely new coaching staff, O and the majority of his staff have been at LSU for 2 full seasons.
Completely different situations.
Hell, one of Alleva's reasons for hiring O was to bring in someone "familiar" and not have to do an all out rebuild. It's funny how people forget that when they make these arguments.

I think they mean Guice wasn’t getting hit behind the line of scrimmage for two plays followed by a sack. That was where the bar was set and anyone who thought we’d go straight from there to actually beating Bama in Canada’s first year was nuts. Doesn’t matter who we’d gotten to coach.

In Miles' last 5 losses to Alabama, average margin of victory was 13.4 points.
We lost by 14 points last night... it's the same song and dance as it has been with Bama every year. Defense plays like fricking beasts, offense can't do shite, defense gets tired in the end.

There's a difference between missing wide open receivers and getting physically dominated. Alabama's OL got their shite shoved in by LSU's DL on multiple occasions. If it weren't for Jalen Hurts and some blown coverages Alabama wouldn't have put up the score they did. Their receivers dropped balls but our guys didn't even have a chance to drop balls at some points because the passes were so bad.

Miles was getting sub 200 yards on offense and yet continuing to run the same plays.

I guess we're just going to ignore the fact that on the other side of the coin, Alabama got a season-high 6 sacks last night.

giving Alabama all they can handle
People keep saying this, but is it even remotely true.
Once the scoring started, it was never closer than 7-0 and after heir second TD we were never closer than 2 scores down.
People are acting like it took a come from behind miracle for Bama to win last night.
Sure it want as bad as people thought it might be, but they beat us handily.

...and the outcome last night was no different.
I mean shite, how many times were we going to throw to Guice in the flats on first down?
Posted on 11/5/17 at 3:55 pm to Broski
We lost both those games primarily because we had key players injured that couldn't play. When those key players returned to playing, we started winning and improving again.

2017 - 306 yards
2016 - 125 yards
2015 - 182 yards
2014 - 249 yards
2013 - 287 yards
And thats with horrible QB play.
