product on the field is the main reason I rarely attend games anymore. That and the 200 mile round trip, which wouldn't be that bad IF there was a better product on the field.
Nah... Back in the day when LSU teams were nowhere near as good consistently as LSU is now, fans packed the stadium for 4 quarters. In the context of fan attendance, the product on the field is fine. It has nothing to do with product on the field, and more to do with the misc other things I mentioned.

yep, Saban said something and athletic department did something about it with the threats

Another question, how often are yall watching other SEC teams play cupcakes on TV and looking at their stands? The answer is you dont. You watch their big games, or close games, and compare them to our cupcakes
I was In attendance for WVU 10 (so not a recent we hate Les problem, plus it was a close game)
Kentucky 2011 (we were good)
Ole Miss 2012 ( SEC rival, nail biter game)
UArk 2013 (SEC rival, nail biter)
MSU 2016
All of them close games against "real" (non cupcake) opponents, and all were emptying out in the 3rd and embarrassingly attended by the fourth.
Contrast to 2006 against Ole Miss in a game that was not against a ranked team and the crowd was amazing and stayed the entire game.
The leaving the game shite is really aggravating though. I got in my car in the levee lot at about 10 and it was 12 before I got to I-10.

I was at the '14 game when they whipped us like 42-7. And that place was packed until nearly the end
That's what happens when you can score actual points in both halfs. If people are even slightly entertained they will stay and watch.

It's not like these roads only suck 7 days out of the year...
The fact remains that you can't move those cars out of that area unless you build a massive roadway infrastructure. Its going to bottleneck somewhere.
What do you want? Dedicated 4 lane feeders out to to all major highways?
We can't even get a loop built.
Yeah traffic is bad but there is no true reasonable way to fix it.

A fan choosing not to attend a game is one thing, and certainly their choice. But going to all the "work"...according to fans here..of attending a game in TS & then claiming it is more fun to tail gate in comfort is a whole different ball of wax. That just goes to show that LSU fans, according to all the empty seats after half time, care more bout partying then supporting the players. And that sucks. 4 hrs a game, 8 games maybe a year, 32 hrs of watching a live game a season, and LSU fans cann't do without partying for another 16 hrs a year?

I'd be interested to know how the suites looks after halftime. They have pretty much everything the general pop apparently leaves for (TVs for other games, alcohol, air conditioning, comfort, etc). Their only excuse would be traffic.

If we would keep our foot on the damn gas like we do in the first half then yeah we would all stay. Miles plays it conservative in the second half.

2. The (L)East Baton Rouge Parish Police Traffic Flow. Simply put, the traffic flow plans out of the stadium are F*&ED after games. Its tight enough getting into and out of campus on a good day, but when 100,000+ people are trying to leave, the idiots that control the flow of traffic out of campus manage year in and year out to continually f*&*k it up. I have a 2 hour drive WITHOUT traffic when I leave the game. If I'm sitting in disgust at CLM and his 1950's I-formation offense, its time to Geaux. If I can beat the 1-2 hours of traffic to get off campus then it makes life a lot easier for me. This past week I got in my car at 10:15 PM. I didn't make it to Stanford Blvd until nearly midnight. Rolled into my driveway at 2:00 am. Yes, I know there are a lot of people there and that traffic is a thing, but before the LSU AD starts bitching about people leaving early they need to consider that the EBRPD is doing his fan base no favors once they get in their car.
You don't have tell me on BR having traffic continually FUBAR. But simply put, wouldn't it be more enjoyable to watch the whole game in its entirety on the television rather than leaving at half or the third quarter and missing out on the game?
Posted on 9/19/16 at 8:46 pm to SG_Geaux
Yes, I do want dedicated 4 lane feeders to all major highways (Dalrymple, Nicholson, Lee, LSU Avenue) just as they were all supposed to be widened like 20 years ago!
That's way cheaper than a loop.
That's way cheaper than a loop.

This.
It's just such a hassle to deal with all of the tailgating rules, the financial cost, the traffic, the parking, the hangover in the stadium, etc etc.
I live on the Northshore and I'd rather just watch all the games that day on my TV than drive 2 hours with traffic to deal with all that.
This. shite, I gave up my Saints season tickets last year Bc it is just a PITA to go when TVs have gotten so good.
For LSU, the traffic can't be helped but they could certainly make it easier on people with the tailgating rules. Selling beer would help too, It could lessen the financial burden on ticket holders, and more directly prevent the dreaded 3rd quarter hangover when the buzz wears off and it's hot. That sucks.

Would bet my life if auburn is beating us 20-6 in the third or losing to us 6-20 in the third, the place will still be packed and rocking. Minus maybe the LSU section
As would we if we're up on a "premier program" we had only beaten twice in the last decade
07 LSU
08 LSU
09 LSU
10 Auburn
11 LSU
12 LSU
13 LSU
14 Auburn
15 LSU
16 ???

Length of actual game time is the biggest problem, that keeps people from staying until the end.
Was watching byu UCLA or some shite, the damn 4th quarter was almost an hour long. They really know how to stretch 15 minutes into 50.

Where do you park. Park by McKinley High 20 min max you on interstate. Best kept secret of LSU parking.

Lol, more people stayed because it was close.
Two years ago the stadium was rocking til the end of a close game against ole Miss. If we would have blown them out, the stadium would have been empty.

I agree with this but that's the big question, with as much of a hassle and expense it is to get to the games why in the hell would you ever leave early ,????
Posted on 9/19/16 at 10:25 pm to 20MuleTeam
Because sometimes you're fricking tired and want to get home.

.my point is, how is beer going to make a diiference?theyre going to probably cut it off after half time ahyway
I would love to drink 2-3 beers during the game at TS. Yes they would be $8 a piece but who cares. Would but cut off right after halftime I'm sure.
And you sneaking in booze just further proves the point of why not sell beer instead of folks sneaking in hard liquor? Less binge drinking and less hostile people in general IMO.

The Atlanta Falcons fans are notorious for this.
