i'm putting on the fans is that some are ADDING TO THE DAMAGE AND NOT SMART ENOUGH TO REALIZE IT.
In those fans eyes it can not get worse.

They are 100% convinced that LSU will descend to the bottom of the SEC West. Some are content with a slow spiral to oblivion, others are pulling for a fiery crash.

Hopefully we are all wrong and will not have to watch the decline and the painful rebuild.

If O sticks around for four years and lingers, think about how far ahead UF, UA, Aggie, UGA will be. They have leaders that are going to execute a plan, a plan for football operations, academic performance, strength and conditioning, facility improvement. Confidence in those programs will be high and that will result in better and better performance.

Our guy cant seem to find a coach outside of the 225 area code. Do you really think he has a strategic plan for the program? I have seen no indication of progressive thinking.

The stupidity of this statement is impressive.

the only publicity we are getting is negative

The LSU admin has nobody to blame for this but themselves.

any recruit reading the tiger rant will question coming here.

It’s not The Rant you need to worry. The LSU football program has given themselves more than enough rope to hang themselves with the recent coaching change decisions, and coaches from other schools aren’t gonna have a hard time finding a tree.

Let me ask you this, since we’re talking about brands. Let’s say you own stock in Amazon, and Jeff Bezos retires. The new brass at Amazon decides to change the layout, to an outdated one that isn’t as user friendly, the app crashes all the time, they charge more for services, the inventory is greatly reduced, shipping is always late, customer information is hacked, etc., etc. Now when your stock begins to plummet and the brand is looked at in a negative manner by the public do you blame the consumer who stopped using it or the decision makers that started the whole mess?

Love this new narrative ..Right, it's the fans that are the problem!

He didn't say the fans were the problem...he said we need to chill out and not be so negative...that the negativity is hurting the brand.

True statement.

This is a civil war over the head coach. Probably not hurting the brand as much as people think.

Is it the negativity that's hurting the brand or is it the decisions that have evoked that negativity that's the real source of the issue here?

Just telling people to eat a shite sandwich and like it is not a reasonable take.

So let me see if I get this.

You're asking if the fans-- the customer base, the people whose money powers the engine that is LSU athletics--are hurting the brand (the objective of which is to attract and maintain customers) to which they are fiercely loyal?

Did I get that right?

Just stop.

LSU isnt in the top 5 in revenue because of Alleva and fricking Ed orgeron.

Its from the fans that go to the games, donate to the university, buy merchandise and the tv rights so the fans can watch.

So what? That’s the right response. Fans are never the reason for a program’s downfall. Never ever in the history of ever. Whatever problems there are at LSU come from within. Fans have nothing to do with it.

I have never seen so much hostility directed at anything LSU.

Because LSU has never done anything as stupid as replacing the most successful coach in history, with a DL coach(who thinks he is an OC) who then fired an OC that was handcuffed from doing his job. Once this OC was paid a huge buyout, the DL coach then hired someone who didn't want to be the OC and no other program would hire.

Then the DL coach hired his stepson(or something) as well as his son's old high school coach who quit the football program and is now suing his former employer. To top it all off he hired an person in their 70s to coach 18-22 year old receivers.

The fans are NOT hurting the brand, its already severely damaged by the administration and the idiot who is the head coach.

losing and embarrassing coaching hiring are harming the brand.

The fans' negativity is a REACTION to that, not the cause.

Correlation vs. Causation, you know.
