are lsu fans as negative as this board in general, OR

are we just hearing from the folks who never liked O in the first place and are circling like vultures, hoping we get rid of him at last?
i tend to think the latter. Look at the college football landscape - things are normal and every team is struggling. Even alabama and georgia aren't way above everyone else. they are better, but both are 1 or 2 injuries away from being just teams vying at the top and not on top.
it's normal to have to do some rebuilding half the time. i hear some valid criticisms, such as offensive recruiting hasn't been up to par with every other position, and we see that the staff is making the effort in that regard to upgrade recruiting.
saban is a once in a world phenomenon. you can't compare your coach to him, unless you want to just be miserable about your team 99% of the time.
i am just doing my best to try to enjoy the football, realizing that we can't be perfect. i am always satisfied if i know our players and coaches are all giving it the best effort. that's all you can ask.

Little of both. LSU fans have more of a pro fan base mentality than other schools. The joke has always been that the dream season for LSU fans would be to go undefeated, win the NC, then fire the coach.
That said, this board absolutely magnifies that beyond what actually exists in day to day life

LSU fans in general can be pretty negative (though we have our fair share of eternal optimists), but this board is a collection of some of the most negative people you will find anywhere. But that also is part of the charm and entertainment of the site.

Note: He may need to go at the end of the season, but he’s still good at this point. Lose a couple SEC games and things might get dicey.

So did Eddie give his best effort following the national championship game? I think not. It is clear to me that his mind was elsewhere than building the program. Let's face it, LSU will not likely contend again with his style of "leadership". What does he bring to the program exactly? All these recruiting classes have not resulted in an above average O-line for example. He is not the answer. LSU needs to get serious about getting a legit coach.

Honestly after following this board for several years I think alot of the negative posters are fans of other programs just over here fricking with us during the season.

This board is currently significantly more optimistic about LSU's season than any of the LSU fans I've seen on neutral cfb boards. I can't say I'm personally a fan of the Ed hire, but this really has nothing to do with that. The team is not good. Being on the right side of a game predicted to be close against a bad team doesn't change that. I'm now thinking we probably make a bowl when I definitely didn't after that stinker vs McNeese who is also having a weirdly awful season, but Auburn, Kentucky, and ULM are the only games left on the schedule where we're not huge underdogs. Losing to Auburn or Kentucky wouldn't be particularly weird, and from there it also wouldn't be weird for LSU to not be bowl eligible.
So yeah, sorry for being a "negatiger" just because I don't think being a fringe bowl eligible team is where a program that has had 3 national title winning coaches in a row and had one of the best teams ever 2 years ago should be.
