I wonder how long an offensive player can just stand near the goalline without scoring when the defensive player refuses to tackle them? Will the refs allow him to stand there for 60 seconds? I assume the refs would allow it and the defensive team would attempt to push him in without tackling him, weird.

Nearest defender would 100% tackle him into the endzone while simultaneously start ripping at the ball

And Pitt is full of shite

Look at this play. It’s clear as day lsu isn’t sliding. Our offensive line is pushing the pile trying to get Diggs into the end zone. And Arkansas is battling their arse off to keep him out

Arkansas was told to stop us and lsu was told to score. Anything the coaches say is horseshite

I do not believe we tried to score. Maybe I am wrong.

Nah, Diggs was running downhill North/South. All Arky had to do at the 3 was caravan pull him in. He wouldn't have had the benefit of kneeling at the half yard line. It was actually kind of stupid to allow Diggs to run momentum downhill in that situation. For anyone that disagrees, you simply don't understand the nuances of the last min of a game in that particular situation. These new analytics overshadow old school coaching common sense sometimes.

except the clock stopping on incompletion That’s a pretty big reason
What? If Kelly wasn’t trying to score, he would have simply kneeled the ball. There was ZERO reason to have a running play.

I'll be damn, a broken clock is right twice a day. You actually made the correct observation.

again he thought they would slide prior. He was trying to get ball back.

Ok. Make him slide then or try to drag his behind into the end zone. That being said, I still don’t buy Diggs would’ve gone down. If the intent was to not score then why even hand the ball off. JD could’ve just danced around for a second and taken a knee before someone got close.

Nothing stopping a defensive player from dragging them into the end zone.

THIS. We had the ball at the 7yd line with 1:55 to play. Ark had no TOs and LSU had 2 TO. Play clock is 40s. Simple subtraction tells you LSU can take the clock all the way down if they wanted to and kick a FG. BK chose not to and they he said he did.

Just watch the clip Pride provided. If Ark just lets up, the whole pile falls into the end zone.

Agreed. Keep the ball away from KJ. Him and Hasz had our number too many times that game

Lost the game with their best player on the sidelines.

That would be their kicker. That dude can make it from 70.
