It should be a good game and could be close. But I won't be the least bit surprised if LSU rolls to a decisive victory. Part of LSU's identity is winning these early season marquee OOC matchups in convincing fashion, going back over a decade. And frankly Texas has a history of laying early season eggs.

Their QB and receivers really impressed me during the Sugar Bowl (hopefully one of wideouts goes pro). On a positive note, it looks like they lose 3/5 offensive lineman and 6 of their front seven.

Losing 8 SR defensive starters would hurt any team. I’m glad this is early where they will for sure be working out the kinks. Still will be a dogfight though...but def think the Tigers should pull this one off. Our team is going to come in playing with their hair on fire....we know that much

They looked really good against UGA. Now, is that because they are good, or did UGA make them look that way

If you’re not worried, you’re an idiot.
Herman has Texas trending in the right direction and it’s a true road game.

Texas doesn't stand a chance, should be a cake walk for y'all.
And there should be plenty of empty seats for LSU fans b/c Texas games suck (no one in Texas is really "in" to football...well except aggy...their football exploits are legend) and no one gets excited or goes to games anymore.

Them beating Georgia is actually a gift because now their expectations are higher going into next year and that will get the Tigers attention, focus, and better prepared for the game....had they lost, I don't think there would have been as much focus..
This is a good point, the talk has already started back up for Texas, Ehlinger said himself "Texas is back" (here we go once again), they will get the high pre-season ranking surely.
Fact is though, their defense is getting decimated and they have to hope their 2 big time WRs dont go pro. Texas is losing 3 starters along their OL, all 3 defensive line starters and they have not recruited well on the DL at all. Malcolm Roach and Gerald Wilbon will be likely starters for them on the DLine next year and those are 2 former Louisiana 3-star kids that wouldnt even be in the rotation here.
This will be a good early season test for Ensminger's offense in terms of can we dominate an overmatched young defense or not with veterans all over the place for us on offense.

They could improve dramatically before we play them or they could get worse.
Glad you have it all figured out though

Hell's bells. I worry about every LSU game in any sport.

They also beat OU. Let's not pretend like they were just lucky to be in the Sugar Bowl.

They will be better than what you saw in all aspects of the game. They are on the up and up and i believe will/should be a top ten preseason team...They will be dangerous

Agree on offense. Not a chance on defense that early in the season. Youth alone will prevent that.
This...they do not have top-talent, experienced depth ready to go with 7 defensive starters leaving. They'll have to score a lot of points on LSU's defense in this game to win...I wouldn't count on this at all. LSU's defense is loaded in 2019.

Should be a great game but don't write Texas in just yet! Georgia didn't even show up. Also LSU curbed stomped the Bull dogs!
Posted on 1/3/19 at 9:18 am to LSUstephen17
Georgia thought they should be in the playoffs and Texas wanted the game.
I’m not that aware of who Texas is losing and who they are picking up, but that was a much better Texas team than I have seen in a number of years.
Hopefully, we won’t lose to Herman like we lost to Jimbo.

It will be a tough game.
I pray to God we don't have to keep hearing their QB being compared to Tim Tebow. I rolled my eyes every time that comparison was made during the game

I live in Texas and UT constantly in news. They are over rated and play in no defense Big 12. Nauseating. Texas loses big on both O line and defense for next year and despite the hype, Herman ain’t all that. He wore thin on UH people LSU wins over Texas next year
