I've seen them both in person too. I've never seen Walker Howard struggle against 1A teams with 5 division 1 players on his offense, inclduing 2 offensive lineman.

Howard had better talent to work with. Mannings team isn’t that great. He will have Quinn Ewers to compete with initially.

I'm not one to follow recruiting that close, but even a casual knew Arch wasn't coming to LSU due to the Mannings personal and vocal Anti-LSU stance.
But can someone please tell me why we wasted recruiting efforts on this kid? I mean, he was even invited and played the star role in the most recent 7 on 7 camp HOSTED by and AT LSU... wouldn't it have been better to seek an actual alternative candidate for that camp spot? You can't tell me there wasn't another LA Quarterback that could have been given that opportunity.
