Arby Fields thank-you for your commitment and want to be an LSU tiger. We sincerely apologize for not providing a hitting coach. I'm sure you'll prosper under the right guidance.

sucks for him, I know he really is a better player than what he showed

but yea, you would think he would have just put his stuff in a storage unit if he was coming back

Or, leave it with one of his local teammates for a couple of months.

Not that this means he's not leaving, but he is playing in the California Collegiate summer league. I doubt he would take a bunch of stuff out there just for summer ball, but who knows.

Of course I don't know him but I don't necessarily agree that shipping your stuff home means he is gone. It is a good 2 months before school starts back. I don't know what the rest of the summer holds for baseball workouts and what not, but if baseball players have the rest of the summer off, then I could see this being a normal thing. I'm a college kid, and I bring off all my stuff to college and come home with it all in the summer. If he isn't driving, FedExing it is the same idea

Good luck to him, he gave it all he had. There just isn't room for everyone and he was given a shot. I expect to hear the same for a couple others.

I don't believe it until it's official.
I didn't say I think he's gone. It just seemed odd to me that he shipped heavy electronic stuff back to California for two months. You would think someone on the team would let him store his stuff at their place until he comes back.

I like the kid. I sat with him at one of the Coaches Committee dinners and he is a very polite young man.

I wish him the best whatever the future holds for him..

He truly wanted to be a tiger too. It's sad LSU couldn't provide a serviceable hitting coach to help him.
