For what it's worth, CFN has us ranked 7th in their pre-season poll.

And here's Pete Fiutak's take on the AP poll, including teams he feels are overranked and underranked.

It's very likely they're going to be 10-1 headed into the LSU game.

Nah, more like 8-3....theyll lose to bama, Mizzou, and ole miss

I'd hope...but they only have 2 teams to beat...and LSU is last game.

Congrats to Georgia. Once again, top 5 preseason legends but every year 1980 gets further and further away.

Any poll that has Ulala and coastal carolina as 2 of the 25 best teams in the United States has already lost its credibility. Neither of those teams would compete with the top 25 teams in the country. This poll is so silly.

It’s funny because you actually think OU is going to win a playoff game

Can’t expect a higher start. Good place to start…win games, move up. Lose games, don’t deserve to be there.

For anyone wondering why A&M is ranked so highly this year, just take a look at their joke of a schedule -

- Kent State
- at Colorado
- New Mexico
- Arkansas
- Mississippi State
- Alabama
- at Missouri
- South Carolina
- Auburn
- at Ole Miss
- Prarie View A&M
- at LSU

Is my math right on this? 8 conference games, with 5 of them at home?

Guess I’ve never really counted before, but I thought conference games were evened out for home vs away, and if total number of conf games was an odd number, then only a +1 or -1. A&M is +2 this season for home vs away in the SEC?

Yeah, not like they beat the team that is currently ranked #7 in the country last year or anything . ULL finished last season #15 and return 20 of 22 starters. The ranking is pretty accurate.

As a reminder, LSU was ranked #6 in last year’s preseason poll.

Guillbeau’s poll is in this Twitter graphic. Teams ahead of LSU according to him: USC, Texas, Auburn, Florida, and Washington

You have to wonder what motivates these media reps in these polls for their own teams? Are they trying to create drama for clicks? Are they trying to create bulletin board material for the locker room?

Example, Texas’s writer in that poll. His has their Week 1 opponent, the Cajuns, ranked higher than all the other authors, at #12. His own team, who is favored by about 10 points, back at 17.
