There is no way Alabama should be ranked #13 after losing to unranked Oklahoma 24-3. Ole Miss also should be #23-#25 or outside of the top 25.

The media and the committee loves them some Alabama.

Yeah. I feel like Bama might still sneak into the playoff if they win next week unfortunately

Does it really matter that much? AP poll does nothing.

I think the committee uses the AP and coaches polls as a reference point for their considerations. So it still has some weight.

This is why always liked the BCS’s computer poll. It took the BS human bias out of the rankings but the media couldn’t stand it because their darlings weren’t getting in. So as usual the media had to create the news rather than just report it.

Bama might have to go 0-12 to miss the playoff

What all teams do you want ranked above them?

Lot of downvotes, but no replies. I’m genuinely curious who all y’all think should be ahead of them.

The name is carrying them at this point. Nobody else could get blown out by a 5 loss team for their 3rd loss and still be on the playoff bubble. Hell they dropped us from 8 to 16 for taking our 2nd loss to what would be a top 10 ranked A&M.

Look, I hate ole miss and bama but who are you going to rank ahead of them right now? They both beat South Carolina, although if they beat Clemson, you can. I guess you could rank asu but that doesn’t matter because the big 12 is only getting one team. As long as chaos doesn’t happen, you don’t have to worry about where they are

Blown out by a 5 loss Oklahoma and a 5 loss Vandy team dominated Bama. Score wasn’t a blow out but Vandy controlled that entire game.

The AP poll has always been suspect.

Mizzou at 24 is bad. They lost to everyone they played with a pulse. Lost 41-10 to A&M, 34-0 to Bama and 34-30 to South Carolina.

Their best wins are 30-27 (2OT) vs Vandy and 30-23 over Oklahoma.

The Big 10 is getting 4 bids.
ND and G5 are getting 2.
The Big 12 is getting only 1. (Everyone in the conference has 2 losses, so the runner-up will have 3.)

That leaves 5 bids for the ACC and SEC. If Clemson loses to SC, they fall to 3 losses. That leaves the final spot between a 3-loss SEC team and the ACC runners up. It’s not unreasonable to think a 3-loss Bama would get in ahead of a 2-loss SMU given SMU’s current CFP rank. The committee is clearly unimpressed with them.

Alabama being ranked #13 is fricking insane. The Bama-bias from AP is real

The Big 10 has 4 good teams. The Big 12 has none. Clemson got blown out by Georgia and had no good wins. That leaves Miami, SMU, ND, maybe Boise St and 4 Big 10 teams plus the top of the SEC. That’s 8 teams plus Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee ahead of Bama and the other 3-loss SEC teams. Who else are you putting up there? The reality is that LSU should be in the Top 20 even with 4 losses.
