Also, anyone know the story as to why the University of Oklahoma is called OU?

I think it's just a convention for the states in that area. For similar reasons, you see ones like:

University of Nebraska = NU
University of Kansas = KU (this one is also to avoid confusion with Kentucky)
University of Missouri = MU

I know that no one has played a down yet, but is TCU really supposed to be that strong? Are they legit?

Same thing with the University of Colorado- CU.

Less well known, but in Oklahoma the University of Tulsa is always referred to as TU.

Someone please correct me if I am off on this, but I cannot remember a year with 50% of teams in the top 14 with a first year starter at quarterback:

1. Alabama
2. Auburn
3. Oregon
4. Georgia
5. Florida State
6. UCLA
7. LSU

Why are media outlets still not using the new Tiger head logo?

ESPN is still using this...

I like being anywhere from 11-15. I believe we started out both NC seasons there. And, in both cases I think we won due to steady, if not particularly outstanding, quarterback play.

And, I think if we can get steady QB play out of Harris, we can compete again this year.

If Jennings sees the field in anything but mop up duty, we are f*cked.

I hope you are being sarcastic, but I fear that you aren't. USC I'll give you as being pretty light on recent accomplishments, but the other two? Oregon won the PAC 12 and played for the National Championship, destroying Florida State in the first round of the playoffs along the way. Michigan State went 11-2, losing only to the two national finalists and winning the Cotton Bowl against Baylor. It's hard to find many better resumes than that.

Of course, all of that was last year, so technically the 2015 versions haven't done anything (of course, neither has anyone else). So you can criticize the whole idea of a pre-season poll if you want, but if you're going to do one, last year's results are the best information you have to go on. Given that, it's hard to justify not ranking Michigan State and Oregon pretty high.

Agree with you. My issues are with Baylor and UCLA. Both are using new QBs and UCLA may be starting a true freshman. But Mich St has a very good senior QB and they have been on the championship doorstep for a few years now. USC also has a very good Junior/Senior QB. And as for Oregon, it is their system. They have been a top 5-10 school for 5-8 years and it didn't matter who played QB. And they just got grad xfer from Eastern Washington who ran an offense like this.
