Agree that the magnitude of the response should be based upon the magnitude of the raise. However, irrespective of the amount of the raise, we are now paying more for the same head coach than we did three days ago. Put another way, we have exactly what we had three days ago, but it costs us more. How is that good for LSU?
Basically, LSU just lost money as a result of Arkansas' desperate shenanigans. The people celebrating this fact are obviously some inbred race of dunces. Celebrate keeping Miles? I can see a case for that. Celebrate that we had to pay more to do it? Nonsense.
Of course, I can't expect any better from irrational vestiges of the catastrophe syndrome years.

You can't keep him and also not pay him. They're mutually exclusive. Not sure why everyone is so up in arms about him not "deserving" it. Bob Sugar just leveraged this with a Miles to Arkansas rumor.

I was hoping he would stay and I'm glad he would stay this is the nature of this business sometimes when you are a good football coach with a job, and someone out there is trying to hire you if the school that currently has you really wants to keep you they will match the offer and maybe improve it.
I know alot of you people hate it but Arkansas wanted miles its not some conspiracy theory to get miles more money. Its simple Arkansas wanted miles but LSU wanted to keep him around so they did what they had to do to keep miles at LSU.

how is this miles fault he has a deep connection with Arkansas and because of this Arkansas was going to try to buy him out of LSU, in response LSU gives him a new contract to keep him in place. This is what happens with contract negotiations like this.
