I also graduated from TCU and ASU, so I would gladly endorse a move to the Big 12.

no they won’t.
they’re sticklers of their academic rankings for all member schools.
LSU does not fit their criteria for membership.

A few of those BIG teams we've never even played-- Rutgers, Northwestern, Michigan come to mind.
Any of the teams in that conference could evolve into a good rivalry (esp Michigan). I would love to travel, say to Iowa City or State College PA every other year to see a game. Lane could give Cignetti a run for his money as COY each year. I really think the BIG conference is where LSU belongs.

LSU as of last year was on the cusp of qualifying to be a member of the AAU which has been the traditional requirement for Big Ten membership academically. But, at this point in time, it is all about $$ not academics for athletics. Any conference other than Big Ten doesn't have the TV dollars to attract and support LSU.

let me rephrase
Nebraska was an AAU member when they joined the conference (lost it since then).
Big Ten isn’t kicking them out, but also not inviting anyone who isn’t a member at time of invitation.
if LSU does get to AAU status, then we’d have a shot at getting in.

As a combine LSU and Iowa State alum I would love LSU and the big 12. My two favorite team teams in the same conference.
