Every time someone links this game I’m reminded that their long time radio play by play guy died in a car crash that night after calling the game.

Morbid I know but the two things stuck together with me.

Some crazy stuff happens in LSU-Auburn games. I hate that there is a pause in the series with conference expansion.

Ironically Walker ended up at ULL, where Jamie should have been in the first place

Love Auburn the town, but I hate when LSU has to play in Jordan Hare
has to be built on some type of ancient ground

Bad calls, but LSU had no business only scoring 3 points in that game regardless. Top pick at QB, 2 first round WRs and talent all over the field. That team likely wins the NC if they win that game.

agree, but in same game, LaFell got straight up assaulted in the endzone and no PI was called.

My favorite Auburn memories:
1. D Byrd
2. 2011 game with Jarvis killing people on special teams
3. Fournette game
4. 2017 comeback
5. Kick Tracy

Realizing how crazy all the games are with them usually. I only listed wins, some of the losses were crazy (and bullshite) like the clock game and the kicking interference called incorrectly against us.

2004 game; it was an extra point we blocked

1997 The entire stadium yelling “Run the ball” because Cecil was unstoppable (27 carries for 235 yards). Late in 4th quarter, third and one, and Herb Tyler rolls left and throws incomplete (he could have walked to the first down). Auburn gets ball and drives for winning score.

1994 FIVE Jamie Howard picks in the FOURTH QTR! Fortunately interceptions thrown in a quarter is not an NCAA stat category. Three were pick sixes. Auburn had ONE first down the entire second half and overcame 14-point deficit. Thanks “Curley”.

2001. My freshman year. My most hated team, I dispised Tommy Tubberville.

Last game of the year, delayed due to a hurricane IIRC.

Revenge game, first home game after the infamous cigar game.

Their kicker came on at half time with our band still performing, they walked right over him and almost fought.

We rushed the field, the win sent us to the SEC Championship, where we beat a heavily favored Tennessee team. Then the Sugar Bowl to beat Illinois, ending the season in the top 10.

The beginning of the golden age of LSU football.

That’s what I think when I think about Auburn.

That's one of my favorite plays in 65 years of watching LSU football games! What a gamble-- what a decision, and what a CATCH!!!

It was delayed because it had been scheduled the Saturday following the 9/11 attacks. All college games were cancelled that weekend

The correct answer is the picked up PI in ‘06 against Doucet . Man I was at that game and in terms of road game environments it doesn’t get much better than that. It was fricking rocking up in there. I feel bad for the people who didn’t get to experience this version of college football. It was just different.

I was at the 1994 Interception Game. Howard threw 5 interceptions in the 4th quarter. The first three were the pick-sixes, and then he threw two interceptions on consecutive plays, as the first one was fumbled back to LSU on the run back. The first of those two was thrown on the 5 and the second was in the endzone. We were so close to winning that game: all we needed was to have Howard take a knee on the third down with less than 2 minutes left.

As for 2001:

Don't forget that game when Cecil the Diesel was running ruffshod and dinardo called Herb Tyler's number on 4th down.

The RB was Hester. Later in the game there was an egregious PI where a flag was thrown and then picked up because the ball was tipped well after the PI started.

To this day the most angry I’ve ever been about a play. It’s the first time my now wife of 18 years ever saw me get legitimately pissed off

Byrd’s catch is always my first thought

Oh and that Fournette game. I was there in person for that demolishing
