it was a necessary game for the tigers. Bo pelini learned early what kind of defense was necessary to win a title. got the ugly loss out of the way and did very well the rest of the time he was our d coordinator

this game made me want to punch myself in the face. when i walked down the hallway of my highshool the day after it, i heard rockytop getting song all the way down the hallway as I went to class.

I rarely think about it...doesn't bother me a bit

Why would you still be pissed about it? Get the frick over it. LSU has beaten Tennessee the past 2 times and has accomplished a good bit for anyone with common sense to let that pointless game go.

The entire state was still stunned by Katrina, and running blindly around knowing Rita was on its way. Traffic was a nightmare. UT and their fans had nowhere to stay. I heard MANY, MANY comments, that we deserved the loss, because of the way we treated thee opposing team. It probably served as motivation for UT.
Wrong. I was at the game and the atmosphere was like no other ever. I'm not saying more people, or more confidence that the '07 UF game, but it was a surreal atmosphere. LSU fans were desperately wanting some football. LSU had their first game cancelled and moved to later in the year, their 2nd "home game" was moved to Arizona State, and Tennessee was acting like a bunch of b*tches trying to get this game moved to Tennessee. Fans were more filled with anger after the UT actions, so Phat Phil had rocks thrown at his bus while they got stopped on campus.
When TGBFTL played When the Saints Go Marching In before the game people were ready to cry.
21-0 at half, all is right in the world again.... and then it all came crashing down.

I assume he's making fun of the Justin Vincent thread, but I got offended by a response from another poster in this thread.

Rita already made landfall on Sat. We were scrambling for a place to watch it, no electricity. My wifes friend got hers on the day of the game. Lives in the older part of town, and next to the hospital. Wish the electricity would of stayed off another day.

Are you ever right about anything? Rita landed on the 24th (the day the actual game had been scheduled) and the game was moved to the Monday (the 26th). The issue was never getting ready FOR Rita, it was still dealing with Katrina and the mess that left LSU in, and then having just had Rita smash the WC of Louisiana a day or so before.

Tough game, but can expect some of those bumps in the SEC. Can anyone remember when Miles last loss came on a Saturday night in Death Valley??? Some close calls, but magical games and this is why we need to play as many games as we can on Saturday nights...

Yes. I'm still pissed. Unforgivable. You should never lose a 21-0 lead to a Clausen led team at home.

Did you fail reading comprehension? The decision to play was not made on that Monday, was it?
