Anyone think we woulda been ranked ahead of TX or USC going into SEC Championship had we get TN? Those 2 teams were blowing people away.

Did you fail reading comprehension? The decision to play was not made on that Monday, was it?

The entire state was still stunned by Katrina, and running blindly around knowing Rita was on its way. Traffic was a nightmare. UT and their fans had nowhere to stay. I heard MANY, MANY comments, that we deserved the loss, because of the way we treated thee opposing team. It probably served as motivation for UT.

You clearly made it seem like you were bitching that game was a bad idea because of that. If you were implying that Skip's decision was made during that time frame, you couldn't have worded it worse.

There are some things you just have to let go........I'm not at all pissed about that game now........

Tell me what would have been worse...........being undefeated going to SEC championship and possibly winning only to watch Texas and So Cal duke it out in the Rose or losing to Tennessee that night.........

That's what I thought............plus we ended up curb stomping Miami both on the field and in the Tunnel ironically kicking some more hurricane arse to end the season.........God, has a sense of humor I swear.

My whole post started by blaming Skip for making the decision to play the game in BR, on a Mon night, no less. I was just pointing out all the negatives that were staring him in his face.

Those of us that had 8 season ticket seats didnt get to use them, sell them, or even give them away. Food, ice, even the mood for tailgating were in short supply. And the team played burnt out, by getting only 44 yds in the 2nd half. And by letting Clausen have a career game, and sweet revenge.

It was a greedy decision by Skip, that cost us a win.

Ahhhh, but wasn't it SU-WEEEET to head to Knoxfart and beat their orange-wearing ASSES the following year, in the game's final seconds???

That was the biggest emotional swing ever! I just remember walking out of the stadium and dozens of tiger fans were shaking the UT bus.

I seem to remember that we were just excited to actually get to play a home game in the state of Louisiana after all the devastation. Football was not necessarily the most important thing on most of our minds. Football was supposed to be something to take our minds off the devastation.

Yea that's what I was gonna say about I finally got closure to the 05 Tennessee game by attending the 06 game and the way we came back and won at the end. I remember standing in the stadium taking it all in and remembering the pain I felt leaving tiger stadium the year before. Made it all very very sweet

I knew that loss was due to being emotionally exhausted from the storm--no big deal.

And the SECCG a couple of years ago added a little more icing to the cake! I was sitting in a sea of orange (yelling my fricking head off) until late in the 4th quarter of that one. Talk about satisfying to watch the gumpbillies streaming out...

What I remember the most was JM taking the ball in the South end zone with no timeouts left and a lead of 21-0 and the half approaching fast.

He rolls to his left on about the 15 or 20 and sees no one open so he runs for it. I was hollering to throw it out of the end zone to stop the clock and get a field goal. 24-0 would have ended that game before the second half. His decision to run the ball in himself was horrible as he was tackled and the seconds ticked off the clock without a way to stop it.
