The edge of the Smokies is not close to Nashville. Knoxville yes, but not Nashville.

Every time I leave La part of me wonders why I go back. Nashville was very nice. Parts not on broadway were the best part.

Lived there for 4 years. Boring place to live. But beautiful surrounding areas and close to mountains, etc.

They have a big homeless problem. Ran this morning along the river /Broadway areas and hundred and hundred of people sleeping everywhere.

It’s a fun town but it’s no different than any other party town when it comes to drunks, bums and filth. I enjoyed the Music Row area.

You have no freaking idea if you call Nashville a liberal city! Baton Rouge is closer to that label my friend.

Not much different to me when comparing Broadway to Bourbon St.....a lot of people don’t leave either one when they come to town and miss the best parts of the city.

I lived there from 2006-2009 and my 2 brothers also live there. Real estate prices have literally tripled since I left. Nissan and several companies have moved their headquarters there, but that the Democrats from California moved in and brought their voting habits with them.

Nashville is full of chain restaurants and very average food. As with every city, Nashville has many nice places/areas and many blighted areas.

I left Louisiana for 30 years and lived in the burbs of ATL. I much prefer Baton Rouge to Nashville, ATL, or Charlotte.

We live in Murfreesboro. Great town. Puts us 30 minutes from downtown, 20 minutes from the airport. Perfect for me. We have lived here for 13 years and have no plans to ever leave.

No income tax

you people who have never lived in a state with no state income tax, only see "no state income tax" and really believe that's a great thing. The fact that you don't realize there is a fee for every fricking thing you do except take a shite in your own house, and higher property taxes aren't even thought about. Those states are going to make money to fund their budgets one way or another. "No state income tax" means they will get that money in fees, and taxes on everything else. in fact a family may end up paying more in fees and taxes than a Louisiana family pays in state income tax. many things are taxed that Louisiana residents don't even think about. So it's not a big deal.

This weekend was my first time there. That might be the coolest city I’ve ever been to. Super clean, great night life, great food. I wish we got to play Vandy more, that was my favorite away trip I’ve taken including Austin.

Nashville today is what Atlanta was like 25 years ago, very cool town. Atlanta.....not so much anymore, and yes I live in Atlanta to attest to this statement.

Been to both before, and made trips to Austin and Nashville this year for games. Nashville is clearly better. Everything OP pointed out and love the free music. Austin is congested, overrun with homeless, panhandlers and liberals.

in williamson county where i live you pay about $2700/yr in property tax for a $500,000 house. this ain't texas...

also dat car insurance you'll be shocked by the fact your car insurance will go down about 60% after moving here.
