Yes, it was very moving and meaningful. Tiger Stadium being that quiet was also an interesting experience.

Id have to say playing it on the field was amazing. Just a really surreal moment.

Yes. It truly was an amazing performance by TGBFTL! Most everyone took off their hats as well and stood silent. Incredible!

And anyone who didn't...well, maybe you're not mature enough to show or admit it.

This. It's a moment I'll never forget. I was in my 5th day of middle school and when I got home I could see the smoke from the window in my room. I have family friends that worked in the twin towers and just decided to call in sick that day. My step dad used to worked about a half a mile away at the time and we feared for his life. Thankfully nothing happened to him. But as with everyone in NY I lost a few people close to me.

Being on the field last night I almost cried and had to stop playing a few times just to catch my breath. It's crazy to think that now I'm 1500 miles away from NY and all of that and 9/11 is just as powerful here as it was there

I'm glad I was able to see the crowd from field level.

I've never heard it so quiet or have seen everyone standing up like that, especially the people in the upper deck. It was quite the visual.

Only if you know the words.

I was the only one that knew them.

Got a fist bump, but no one was crying.....

A bunch of Northwestern St. band members and alumni have spent the last 24 hours trashing TGBFTL and the show they did last night.

...I'm not even gonna bother posting on there because I might get carried away.

But seriously?!?!? Of all the shows to bash, it's the 9/11 show?? Are you serious???

It was amazing that 92,000 people were so quiet that you could hear the Band Director yelling his commands.

I mean, when you stand there and play, it's easy to sound decent. At least the SON moved a few times....haha.

Best comment on that page.

It's not like we moved much... but they sure as hell didn't either. Plant and play baby.

I think a lot of them are looking at America and Amazing Grace saying we didn't move much.

That's the golden girl feature.. it happens every week.

This. We always have one song where we don't move and the Golden Girls dance. This show just had the extra thing with Amazing Grace and there was no way we were going to move with that.

Any band that has people wearing baseball caps (i.e., THEIR DRUM MAJOR) is more of a "high school band" IMO.

I'm an alumni band member who played in the 5th anniversary halftime show in Tiger Stadium. The arrangement was so beautiful, as I played, I was in tears. I can only imagine the scene in the stands....
