He looks happy being on the sidelines...He's not a student of the game.He for sure makes LSU look bad with his post Raider game interviews! While I wish him good luck with his new "I am the man"(he's not} attitude and maybe becoming a good pro Qb.Right now he's a rip off to the fans!

Leaf, easy.
Guys were calling him better than Manning and was invited to NY for the Heisman, where he snagged 2-3rd that year.
I remember he was at wazzu, and tore through the PAC10 defenses. But at that time PAC10 Ds were about as tough as a canned spam.

Being labeled the biggest bust in NFL history overtaking Tim Couch? Would kind of suck because he's associated with LSU.
Impossible for either one of these guys to over take Ryan Leaf. I remember watching him play in bowl games when I was in highschool, they way espn talked about him you would have sworn he was the second comming of Jesus. Wasn't he just fired from a D3 school as a coach?

Pretty sure he was caught stealing pain pills or something, iirc

'Bama Boy'..blame it on Saban or Fisher..or Davis Jr for ignoring the wonderlic score..
JR was catching grief for his progressions/reads, motivation, leadership, and conditioning/weight, while at LSU..under Saban and to a lesser degree Miles staff..Moffitt must've been pulling his hair out at times?
And why most NFL Scouts and GMs had major question marks despite the natural talents.
Once with that Davis Jr #1 pick payday..lottery winner..coasting all the way.

he did fine on the wonderlic, he scored the same as flynn

it was basically him or Calvin Johnson as #1 on most of the boards

Jimbo always gave him praise. Miles played him in 2005 with a torn wrist ligament in his throwing hand for 1/2 the season, so he obviously had confidence in him. I never heard the coaches after his freshman year question his leadership
from Jimbo:
quote:
"You can tell him something one time and you never have to tell him again," the coordinator said. "But sometimes people stereotype based on their first impression. JaMarcus is media-shy. He doesn't go out seeking attention. He doesn't go around seeking glory."

You're right, he got a 24. And it was a low-blow for me to suggest such even if intending such as an insinuation of questionable QB IQ. But, I know folks that know him, and they insist it isn't just that he's shy. That he isn't super-sharp.
The progressions/reads, weight, silent leader stuff, I stand by.
JR rarely ever saw past his initial 1-2 receivers in three and four man sets. His arm strength, ball velocity, and accuracy, masked most of his shortcomings..at least collegiately.
The vast majority of scouts and GMs had Calvin Johnson graded/rated the best by position, and #1.

He didn't throw an int in 7 or 8 games in 2006 and only threw 8 for the whole season. You don't do that if while throwing for 68% if you can't check off receivers.
What makes him a bad leader btw? He seemed pretty good to me leading LSU to victories against 2 top 5 teams on the road. When is the last time a LSU QB accomplished that? He was the best QB in the country in 2006, and I think he showed good leadership from the 1st day that he took the field against OSU

most teams had JR as either the #1 or #2 player. That isn't looking past him

JR could get cut tomorrow and he wouldn't be near the bust Ryan Leaf was.

I don't know about this. I have the feeling he'll be destitute by the time he's 40.

...and PS: co-signed Ryan Leaf! Not to mention a possible candidate, Heath Shuler.

That's lame. Gradkowski and Murphy have the same coaches and organization.
JR needs some "tough love". Fans who will tell him the truth rather than the coddling he gets from many fans.
Waaa Waaa it's the "idoits/racists" fault who can not admit that JR is great!

Leaf was a bigger bust than Couch.
Jamarcus is fat and lazy. Not LSU's fault.

Jamarcus "if he wants to make a living" ??? wtf?!!! dude has 20 million in the bank weather he ever takes another snap again. Raiders dug themselves thier own grave with the easy money contract..... He looks like he really dosnt want to play football anymore, think the death of his uncles really set him back and now he's content to just ride out contract and hang it up with $$$$ in the bank.
but Jamarcus alone isnt tarnishing our pro image....... Craig Davis,Early Doucet,Glen Dorsey, Josh Reed, along with JR is what really hurts....... JR and Dorsey are just the poster children
