Agree. I thought Fields and Lawrence looked mistake prone, especially Lawrence.

No doubt they did. They were moving the ball way more consistently than Clemson but just couldn't finish off some drives. If I remember right Clemson got 3 of their tds on big plays. They let Clemson hang around and it bit them in the arse.

OSU lost the way we used to with inability to finish drives, mental lapses and undisciplined play. They were the better team than Clemson, but they straight up beat themselves.

I feel better about us Vs Clemson vs OSU. OSU is more physical and talented.

What if the receiver had been near the sideline? What if he had gotten the ball in his hands, landed one foot clearly in bounces, then stepped out? But Everything else is identical... it'd then be a catch and i bet you'd have no issue with it.

It was a catch. Until someone clearly defined what a "football move" is, it will remain a catch. Dude had the ball solidly in his hands and took three steps. Not one or two. But three steps. Damned near four steps.

Lawrence isn't a great passer. He tries to fit the ball in tight spots and OSU should have had several interceptions.

He is gritty and one hell of a competitor though.

A ton of what-ifs. What if Dobbins didn't drop that TD pass early. What if OSU didn't lose their Safety on a questionable targeting call.

The game turned completely on that helmet penalty which I've looked at a hundred times... Very very questionable and one of their stalwarts Shaun Wade was ejected.... At the very least he should not have been ejected... Instead of having a first down on around the 50 yd. line and the score already 16-0, Clemson moved down the field with the help of another penalty and scored... Completely deflated OSU and lost one of their main playmakers in the process. With Wade's sack I believe they would have rolled them. OSU did not get one break all evening, not one break.

I couldn't care less who won the game. I don't care about the other calls. I'm saying THIS call was bullshite last night. And it was bullshite last year against aTm as well.

That call was not questionable.

To me it was.... Lawrence ducked down and forward and looked like he wanted to initiate contact while Wade came in flush level... At the very least he should have not been ejected because it certainly wasn't targeted.

On top of that, that “incomplete pass” was 100% a fumble. Dude took like 4 steps

That was an A&M-LSU call. SEC officials weren’t going to let this open up that old wound

The we breaking off the route on their last play was the icing on the cake

Regardless of the intent of either player, that type of contact on a QB in the pocket gets called targeting every time.

Yup, if Olave would have just run his normal route it was a guaranteed 6... He sure has manned up though and put all the blame on himself.

You know it is an SEC crew when both teams feel that the refs were biased for the other. Then you know for sure.

So true.

Not so sure - their arms were all in a knot and the ball was on the interior of that bag of snake arms. He was NEVER in position to make a 'football move" with the ball in his possession. = he was struggling for possession the whole time.

doesn't matter if he went 20 yards while battling the defense for complete possession. Defense finally dislodged the ball during the struggle and ball hits the ground = INCOMPLETE PASS..

This is absolute bullshite (even though it comports with thte refs determination last night). What constitutes a "Football move"? Is it like porn, we will know it when we see it?

Also if the receiver had stepped out at that point in lieu of dropping the ball, would it have been a catch? You are damn right it would have because he had established possession by having it in 2 hands while taking 4 fricking steps. Christ, there is no requirement to tuck the ball for it to be a catch.

I'll guarantee you if he would have caught that pass in the endzone it would have been ruled a TD.

Wrong, if his foot was out of bounds as the defender rattled it loose it should be incomplete. The other point is that you cannot call a fumble since he was driven back, the whistle should have blown and the completion would be made. Cannot be a fumble in either scenario.
The safety would have stayed in the game if the plane of the top vent hole of the helmet was parallel to the ground. It was perpendicular. That position injures tacklers at a high rate. He used the helmet as a weapon and that is a penalty
