Anybody else see a "financial cliff" coming for LSU/fan support

Let's be honest.. Its costs a lot of money to actively support LSU football.
Tickets are expensive, surcharges and TAF fees all add up.
LM gets a raise and LSU decides to spend 100millon to upgrade Tiger Staduim.
Fans were put out last season with LM after 1-9-12, gotta fresh start with new qb this season and things winded up with a 3 loss year with another bowl loss to fricking clemson... Thats right clemson.
With potential losses of departing srs and juniors things could possbily get worse before they get better.
Everybody likes a winner...plus we've all become used to it last 10 years.
Not sure how a 3-4 loss regular season would go over.
Yall thought the Bayou Bash was poorly attended last feb,,, wait til next month.
Interesting times ahead fellow LSU fans.
Might be time for Les to do his best work... thats of course if he wants to be here longer.

Considering the amazing class lsu has coming in, if attendance is shitty this year that's a testament of a shitty fanbase.

Potentially canceling the trip to Dallas next season...

All of this could be solved by Les using his NFL contacts to get Stud a NFL job, and hiring a real offensive coordinator and leaving him alone.

With the TV revenue that all SEC schools now enjoy, I am not too sure that there is a "financial cliff" in the future for LSU, even if the wheels really do fall off the wagon.
For instance, a school like Mississippi State, which on its best day has 30,000 fewer butts in the seats than Tiger Stadium on an average day, can pay a coach over $3m per year and can build a multi-million dollar expansion and football practice facility. They don't have near the resources of LSU, even if support drastically dips in the coming years.
The TV deal the SEC is a part of changes the dynamic completely from what it was even in the late 1990s.
That being said, TAF needs the fan support to exist and TAF has sway over athletic decisions. If TAF starts to lose money, I am confident they will take action or assert influence.
If there is a financial cliff, it is more to do with TAF and not LSU as a whole.

Anybody expecting financial disaster for LSU arising out of Les' boneheaded coaching episodes will be greatly disappointed.
And, besides, Les will reliably win 7-9 games each year, underperforming in about half those wins.
The so-called positigers will reappear each week to point out a high winning percentage.
Unless our AD has a surgical vertabrate insertion, it will continue this way for a long time.

Let's see...Dallas in Aug. on an enormous oven hot parking lot for tailgating....lousy upper deck overpriced tickets courtesy of jerry world... overpriced hotels, services and supplies... big "money grab" game for admin. and one less good home game for fans/local businesses...I think NOT !

I hope so. Most of our fans suck anyway.

I'm aware of the other finicial avenues LSU has, obv tv is the biggest... However fan support is crucial.
LSU sold around 11-12k tix to a bowl game this year that was 4-6 hr drive for the majority of LSU fans.
That's not good.
Things like this don't happen in one season,,, it's a snowball effect. I hope they realize this and take whatever step needed to fix.

B, Bu, but we don't win EVERY game!!!

It's a slow decline. There will be new rules and regulations placed on tailgating on top of a team that could very well lose 4 games next season. We have already seen a reduction of tailgating the past 2 seasons thanks to parking and trailer fees.

Changed my mind about spending money to go to Dallas to see them play TCU.
I will always love LSU, but I just cant justify that expense.

I went to dallas last year.. mainly bc it was oregon, a 1-2 matchup.
Im not going to watch TCU,.. Ill save that 1000bucks.

Good don't want shitty fans like you there anyway.

It's up to the fans and boosters how they spend their money. Nobody has the right to demand people go to any game or the bayou bash. If people especially wealthy connected boosters want to withhold money that's their business.

No, I do not see that happening, but we have a lot of costs w/ the new addition to the stadium,
that could be affected some....if the season starts badly.
TV revenues will be affected.
The trip to Dallas is a DONE DEAL, the TV revenues are "in place" and the amount of tickets LSU people get thru LSU is relatively small.
