Anybody attempted a SEC double-header?

Making my first trip to Starkville for the Miss. St. game at 11am, and know some Ga. Tech fans going to Oxford for the Ga. Tech/Ole Miss game at 6:30pm. Planning to attempt a SEC doubleheader. Looks like the drive from DW stadium to VH stadium is a bit under 2hrs, so should be able to be in Oxford by 4:30~5pm.
Anybody else done this or any other SEC doubleheader? I imagine it's not possible outside of MSU/OM or MSU/Ala.

I did once in Jackson, Miss.
I watched Ole Miss v Tenn in the day time and LSU v State that night.
Tenn beat Ole Miss paving the way for us to win the SEC that night.

Nice. Go for it. Hold off on the fermented pepsi’s under after oxford game. Also, I have first hand knowledge you cant bring in anything in a cup in Vaught Hemingway. Total lie and the female cops really love them some authoritiiiigh vs LsU fans

There used to be a double-header in Jackson...OM-LSU and State-Alabama. The early game was in the afternoon, with a three or four time period between games to empty the stadium from the first game and allow the crowd for the second game to get there, park, and enter the stadium.

Yes in 2003. I attended Arkansas/Bama game in Tuscaloosa that went to overtime. I did have to leave during overtime though in order to make it to Starkville for the LSU/Miss. State game that night. That was a fun day.

Lol, I'm not young, and that's why I'm thinking about it - if not now, when? Don't plan to do much drinking. Just not possible with all the logistics. Don't have half the stamina I had 30+ years ago, but much better at pacing myself these days.

What stadium allows you in with a cupped drink?

they used to do back to back games there when I was at LSU, we'd play ole piss first, then they'd shoo everyone out and bama and moo st. would play

That would be cool. I knew a man, he's passed on now, who used to hit SEC doubleheaders using his airplane, apparently there were some legendary outings.

Parking at MSU will be key.. I went to the game in 2015 and no exaggeration, it took us 5 hours to get out of a MSU paid lot on campus. I thought I was being "safe" parking on campus and paying the 25$, but it was a disaster. There was absolutely no one directing traffic anywhere near us and once we finally got out of the lot, we noticed there was a 4 way stop about a block away that had cars going in 4 different directions right after the game, that was a huge part of the problem.

If stadiums were closer to each other I would do it more often.

You could do an Alabama game followed by an Auburn Game. Auburn followed by Georgia game. Vandy followed by Tenn. Once UT joins next year, you could also do Austin followed by College Station. You could also do those in reverse. There are a lot of possiblities in the SEC for doubleheader football games.

quote:Austin - College Station is about the same as Starkville - Oxford, but the others you mention are ~3hr drives, and with parking around those larger stadiums, while it's technically feasible on paper, I think it would be difficult as a practical matter. As it is, we're going to have maybe an hour to find our friends in Oxford and enjoy some tailgating before everyone heads to the stadium. Would love to hear if anybody has pulled off any of the others you're suggesting.

Years ago when Ole Miss and Mississippi State used to play their home games in Jackson, we would catch the LSU-Ole Miss game in the daytime and stay for the Mississippi State -Alabama game that night.
