We need him to return to last years form for this team to make a deep run!

Pure speculation, but Jay loves getting lefty bats against right-handed pitching.

Yeah, I’m assuming it’s an injury. He was a late scratch on the lineup card. Hopefully it’s nothing serious.

Dugas bat isn’t one you take out for a lefty

It's not like he’s hitting the cover off the ball against sec pitching. what he did last year means nothing to the new staff.

He is still hitting around .300 and you don’t take him out because if he does get hot this lineup could be insane

He’s hitting .300 on the year with 20 RBI despite hitting at the bottom of the lineup. Take your ignorance elsewhere

This is exactly why most likely, he was scratched last minute bc CJJ loaded his outfield with lefty’s in Pearson and Gio. Bc dawgs had a RHP take the bump. We might see this all weekend since we will face all RHP starters from MSU… it doesn’t bother me to much to be honest; dugas just doesn’t have it this year for some reason. He isn’t seeing the ball well at all and taking way to many good pitches bc it’s like he’s always looking for the walk or HBP, instead of looking to go yard like last year

They’re still looking for someone to take the RF job but Dugas was settled into the lineup.

Yes it is. He isn’t seeing it well at all this year, nothing compared to last year. And those lefty’s ended up giving us a couple of the most crucial and important at bats last night. Dugas can’t hit a breaking ball to save his life this year and the scouting report is out on him, don’t throw him FB’s. He always takes sliders, and uncle Charlie’s buckle him 9 out of 10 times. He will take and take and take breaking pitches till he either gets himself to a FB count or K’s looking or chasing a pitchers waste pitch. What is his average against conference pitching ?

Dude it’s exactly why. dugas was penciled into the lineup originally until it was 100% confirmed msu was starting a RHP, and he got scratched last minute like literally last minute, for a lefty

Johnson’s their Friday night guy.

We knew well in advance he was on the bump.

Is that why Gio was pinch hit for in the 9th?
You know that Dugas is hitting .300 on the year right?

He’s actually batting .299. 77 at bats, 23 hits, 13 HBP, 13 BB, and 26 K’s. And he just looks lost against SEC pitchers… his glove has been pretty reliable normally, but CJJ is the type of coach that expects veteran players to step up and be leaders. And Dugas has seemed almost like disinterested or something at times this year. I hate it too bc I really was looking forward to seeing him ball out this year and play himself into a late first round, early second round pick… but so far he’s done the exact opposite. And I think he’s in his head to much this year, maybe a day or two off will help him relax some and get out of his head.

Who PH for Gio ??? You guessed it, another lefty… Stevenson.

And he’s batting .299; but the bulk of that average comes from non conference at bats.

And what do you think his numbers last year looked like? I think you’d be surprised if you actually took the time to look. They’re basically the same except his OBP is a bit higher this year.

If he looks lost, then what does Gio look like? This isn’t to shite on Gio, but he should never be starting over Dugas.

I absolutely hate when people say shite like this. You have no idea what he is doing or saying besides the 5 total minutes per game you see him standing at the plate. He looks super disinterested here doesn’t he.
