Yea, do you? The SEC has 7-8 programs that are in the top 10 as far as investing in baseball & they all want the same kids. The pac 12 is respectable but it’s not the SEC. College baseball runs through the SEC. Hes going to need some direction being unfamiliar with the territory. If that insults you, you are weird

The more you talk the more I realize you’re mildly retarded. First, as a father with a son being recruited for football, I completely understand where the 1991 comment was coming from. You clearly don’t. No coach is traveling the roads going visit HS coaches really anymore. Most interaction is done on social media. Mostly Twitter. He’s had coaches from schools as far as Nebraska direct message him through Twitter. You don’t need to know the area so much anymore as you need to understand this generation of kids. They don’t talk on the phone, they text, Tweet, Instagram, etc. so the guys comment to you about 1991 is spot on.

Edit: I forgot to add that these coaches talking to my son have never even called his high school coach, much less visited. It’s all done with film on Hudl (I’m sure there’s an app for baseball), and social media. Again, not 1991.

Lester you weren’t worried about burned out, never coached outside the state of Oregon Pat Casey recruiting but you’re concerned about Johnson?

The most important parts of recruiting are still done in person. Identifying talent, following up with evaluations, building relationships, showing campus & amenities, closing deals

Twitter interaction is just fodder to maintain interest

I like that Johnson's a young and up and comer without a title. I think it's safe to say Tiger fans didn't want someone here to collect a check.

A friend sent a text to say Moscona said Dylan Crew’s father called Jay yesterday to say how pumped they were to have him aboard.

Don’t agree with the LSU recruits regionally thought.

Bregs was from NM.

Lange was from MO.

Hess was from VA.

There are others in the past.

To be add to your list with current players:

Thompson and Arnold are from CA.

Crews and Gio are from FL

Hill is from Ark

Money is from Ten

Hell Theo Milas is from Canada

I had a friend text me and say that Tre Morgan’s dad called Jay and told him he’s even more excited than Crews and he could beat up Crews’ dad in a fight.

Kidding aside, that’s awesome and I hope it’s true.

Arnold was a late Summer, post draft add who had just been released from his Oregon LOI following a coaching change. So not a typical eval or signing.

With that said, at Arizona it makes sense to recruit regionally but I don’t think he’s been out there beating the bushes and using contacts to build his roster with overlooked players. It seems like he should be able to hit the circuit where needed.

I think he’ll be fine but early on will need some direction.

PM when he came in at least had regional ties. I’m just curious to see who Johnson hires on this first staff
