Sizing, ability and the scheme wanting to run now
Coach O has been hot and heavy on those young men.
Trust and stability players/parents want. I think it's a safe risk.

I agree completely. Bringing in a DC from outside at this point could be a problem for several reasons.
It could be difficult to find an established coordinator who is willing to sign a contract that includes the "Miles Clause," and it seems that Alleva will insist on the clause.
Also, you can't bring in an established DC and tell him who has to be on his staff. You would think anyone coming in would retain Orgeron and Raymond, but who knows? Or perhaps Orgeron or Raymond wouldn't want to coach under the new guy.
If you hire a new guy, he has to be someone who is a good linebackers coach, because that will be his position group, since you're only allowed so many on-field coaches. If Orgeron is promoted, they only have to find a linebackers coach, which is easier than finding a solid coordinator.
