Needs to average 38 ppg the rest of the season to break Pistol Pete's scoring record.

If he “really” wants to break it, take away the shot clock and three-point line. For his whole career.

Don’t forget about the pesky issue of Maravich not being able to play on the varsity squad as a freshman due to NCAA rules at the time.

And that’s of course if you omit Davis’ extra year of stats for Covid year.

What BS that would be. Five years of stats to catch Pete’s three.

Your math doesn’t add up. Davis is averaging 26.6 this season after 25 games. Pistol’s career average is 44.2.

Davis needs to average a hell of a lot more than 44.2 for the rest of the season to catch up.

Total points, not average.

Davis won’t break it, but even if he did, anyone with a brain will realize it’s really disingenuous to compare the accomplishments. 44.2 points / game is obscene and will never be equaled even with a shot clock and 3 point line.

The extra covid season is the only reason he is even close. It will get interesting if Detroit Mercy can win a few games in their conference tournament.

If he breaks it all you will hear is he broke Pete Maravich‘s scoring record. You’ll never hear about it being five years versus three years. And it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why.

So just 12 points more than his season average. I think Pete’s record is safe

He's averaging 27.2 so far this season and has exactly 3 game with over 38 point and only 9 of 30 or more points.

The play 3 of the top 5 teams in their conference going forward.

Seems unlikely to me.
