I'd like to believe he is better than Harris, but we'll see.

It's hard to say what anyone will do until they line up against an SEC defense. At least Daniels was able to absolutely torch UCLA's D last year (something we were unable to do). LSU just needs to piece together Ws in the first part of the season whatever way they can regardless of who is playing QB. It's probably gonna take a little while for the team to gel with so many new players and new coaches.

The most important reason Daniels leads early is the question marks surrounding the O line. Once they gel, let the more accurate QBs run the show.

Well, both have very strong arms, and we all loved the 2019 offense (very aggressive passing).

Brennan, I think the idea was, he's older- therefore more football-smart. People envision him standing back in the shotgun, throwing 40-45 times, lots of quick decisive passes inside the hashmarks, moving up and down the field.

Nussmeier, I believe the general perception was "a gunslinger", with a lot of Farve in his game. Who doesn't want the next Farve?

Daniels is an outsider, a guy we haven't seen much of, that for some reason is getting lumped into comparisons with Brandon Harris and Jordan Jefferson.

I think people see the big play ability with Nuss. That’s exciting to fans. The big arm, the crazy scrambles, the tight window throws, who doesn’t want that. He also seems to really love LSU. Those that follow recruiting remember that he was a big part of helping recruit his own recruiting class. Fans obviously like a player that seems to love the team and program.

People tend to like Myles because of his allegiance to the University. Although he entered the transfer portal he’s back (for better or for worse). He’s just had some bad luck (injuries, goat LSU qb transferring in) in his career that have stopped him from playing. Hard to not like a kid that doesn’t jump ship.

Daniels is an outsider. Yeah I really like the kid and I want the best qb to play, but he’s the newest face. His teammates (for better or for worse) trashed his locker when he announced he was transferring. He digressed after having a really good season as a freshman (Jake Fromm anyone?). So it’s really not too hard to see why a large portion of the fan base sides with what is familiar.

I'm not saying Daniels won't be the starter, because I have no idea. But why would CBK says that Nuss would've been getting the first team reps if healthy today, IF Daniels is currently winning the competition?

I think Daniels getting the majority of the snaps today just proved he's in the front two spots, which we kinda already knew.

I still believe Nuss will be the starter, but that's just my hunch from reading between the lines and what my own eyes have seen in very limited opportunities.

Overall, I trust the staff to make the right decision.

You just don't have a clue. As bad as a year he had in that dumpster fire, he would have been drafted by the NFL, if he chose that route. The last time he had NFL talent at receiver, his true freshman year he looked like and played like a first day pick.
Not SEC caliber? He hung 42 on that UCLA team that whipped our arse last year with a 94 QBR. You want to guess Myles QBR against those three cup cake games he played in? No where close to that try 45 against the average defense and in the 70's against bad ones comparable to the sun belt.

Yea he still is thought of highly by people who get paid to evaluate talent.
