Keeland was used a good bit. He just relied too much on his speed instead of power/size. If he ran more like J Hill, he would have been a Heisman candidate.

BB has more of an affinity for players who played for coaches he’s close with like Saban or Schiano

That early Pats run had a lot of LSU players that came out under Saban.

I think the last Pats guy from LSU that they drafted and to be a major contributor was Ridley back in 2011.

Since then he’s loaded up on players from Florida, bama, Rutgers and Georgia more than any other schools by far

You always have to take into account the players weight and strength when they arrive on campus on being underutilized or not. Many players are just late developers. Hunter falls into this category, he was very tall, skinny when he arrived on campus. He packed on allot of weight and strength in his 3 years and has continued in the pros. We have had a string of undersized linebackers, Queen the latest, that take several years in the weight room to be big and strong enough to be effective on the field

Hunter redshirted and left after rs soph year

Actually he played as true freshman (mostly while being 17) and left after his junior year.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but didn’t Bower play his last two seasons under Aranda? If so, tteee is a reason he was under utilized. The guy is a 4-3 DE, not a 3-4 DE or OLB.

Bower played his junior year under Steele, started the first few games and rotated at DE with Key (opposite Lewis neal). then he got hurt, missed a few games and Key took over. Senior year was under Aranda and he and Key were starters in the base D and he also rotated in for Key at the rush OLB spot.

But yes, he's a 4-3 DE all the way.

he’s just saying usage wasn’t the issue with Hunter. He played a ton while he was here.

He just never got any real coaching or development while he was here under Brick Haley to the point where the Vikings were shocked at how little he actually knew about pass rushing when he got to the next le

So he was underutilized...exactly the point

I stand by my statement.

We didn’t waste his potential because of lack of use

Welcome to another of the weekly shite on Les Miles threads.
had tons of talent and underachieved.

And he’s proving how great a coach he is at Kansas. Making such great progress there.

He isn’t as good a coach as Nick Saban who is directly in his division and basically was in his prime.

Yeah we could ha w some more but people act like Alabama wasn’t dominating football between 2009 and 2015

All those first round played he sent to the league weren’t all kickers and running backs.

Les lost to a lot of other inferior teams, which we had a big talent advantage over.

It wasn't just Alabama that caused Les to underachieve.
